(but not the graduation cooler) Welcome Cooler - $ Food Monthly Cooler - $ Food (October/November combined) Retreat - $ Food, $ Rentals/Venue, $ Transportation SAFC: $199 Food & Supplies for retreat Need to meet with adviser in order to receive the money Haven t heard from the SAFC Committee about retreat funding yet Raquel will be talking to SAFC soon Fall 2017 Retreat Location: Kelly is working with Robert Otsubo to secure White Plains Cabana 1795 Waiting for word from Robert Backup = Bryan Hamric Time: Saturday 09/16 Bus update? Actually use the SAPFB planning materials for the event Timeline for planning the retreat over the summer is in the SLSSA Position Duties document We ll figure out what we need to do for getting the SAFC reimbursement Policy for lending SLSSA equipment to other organizations/individuals: Coolers, table, wagon, etc. For groups outside SLS: Security Deposit: returned not cleaned or damaged then they would not receive their money back $30 up front and after assessment of item other fees will be charged Find a form online and adapt it For SLS groups (ie. ELI): as long as the SLSSA Board members know and have a clear idea of who to return the item to
4 Inviting undergrads to coolers: Just invite to one cooler per year At the November cooler (recruitment opportunity for MA program) Food (cheap) and no alcohol Don t want to diminish the experience for grad students; adds issues with alcohol distribution Membership dues Raise to $40 for year $25 per semester (already approved - first increase in who knows how long) Would help to cover some of the budget shortfalls increase of $2.50 per semester for year Previously retreat was $15 but is now $10 for SLSSA members Would allow our fundraising to go to departmental funds COMMITTEE REPORTS Presidents SAPFB, SAFC, RIO stuff One president position will be open in the Spring Academic Planning PEEPs will happen Please volunteer as mentors Retreat will happen busses, food, and other stuff will be talked about Trying to address some of the food complaints from last time Amber suggests Thai Lao in Kapolei Nancy may be able to pick up b/c she s driving there Breakfast from Costco Good on supplies No bottles at the beach Planning meeting next week to talk about coordinating and asking for volunteers Treasurer New Bank Account Was opened on 08/15/2017 at UHFCU - American Savings account closed on 08/15/2017 This will save us $372 a year in banking fees

Went well, sold almost half How much did we raise? $102 plus extra Plan for this semester auction at retreat bake/book sale (halloween or thanksgiving) dinner night? Not sure yet. Depends on whether the bake/book sale would be enough. yard sale again?? Collect stuff in May and then sell it in August Media If people can take photos at the events, please do, and send them to Taka for the website.
