5 SUCCESS TIP #7 CONNECT WITH A CONSULTANT 1. Why is connecting with a DivorceCare church consultant an important part of being an effective leader? 2. What kind of issues would we like to discuss with our consultant? 3. Who will be our team s point person (primary leader, final decision maker) to connect with our consultant? What to Do First Checklist (p. 4) SUCCESS TIP #8 PRAY 1. Will we (personally and as a team) make an ongoing commitment to pray for our DivorceCare ministry? 2. What steps can we take to strengthen the prayer support for our leadership team? For our participants? 3. Whom can we ask to serve on our DivorceCare prayer team? Workbook-Based Personal Study and Reflection (p. 17) FOLLOW GROUP GUIDELINES 1. Do we want to use the guidelines in the workbook or do we want to create a list specific for our church? Why do you think DivorceCare is placing such an emphasis on making sure that all DivorceCare participants feel comfortable, regardless of the circumstances surrounding their divorce? 2. How can we help the group to bond and help each other? Target Audience (p. 31) DIVORCECARE LOCAL NETWORK FELLOWSHIPS WHAT IS A DIVORCECARE LOCAL NETWORK FELLOWSHIP? DivorceCare Local Network Fellowships are groups of local DivorceCare leaders from churches in a city or region who agree to meet once a quarter or twice a year for fellowship, encouragement, support, networking, training and prayer. These fellowship meetings are intended to be informative, interactive and inspirational. DivorceCare leaders will get to know other DivorceCare leaders in their city or region, glean new ways on how other groups approach things and find practical feedback and input for the success of their own local church DivorceCare groups. These fellowship meetings are typically two hours in length on a Saturday. They will often include training elements, but also place heavy emphasis on creating fellowship and friendship with DivorceCare leaders from nearby churches. The goal is simple: leaders encouraging leaders! HOW DO I START A LOCAL NETWORK FELLOWSHIP?
