Programme overview People completing this qualification will meet the requirements of the Ministry of Health s (2008) Let s get real framework at the essential level of performance. Learning and assessment for this qualification can occur in the workplace, through another workplace or in polytechnics and private training establishments. 2 Average duration 18 months Fees $300 Credits 105 Enrolment requirements To enrol in Mental Health and Addiction Support (Level 4), the trainee must meet the following requirements: be employed as a support worker in a mental health and addiction support organisation. have one of the following residency statuses: o New Zealand citizen (including Cook Islands, Niue and Tokelau citizens) o New Zealand permanent resident o New Zealand work permit/work visa o Australian citizen o hold refugee status in New Zealand. Mental Health Support Workers Training Grant This Grant assists trainees with their tuition fees. Trainees must meet certain eligibility criteria and can receive up to $2, Le Va Mental Health and Addiction Scholarships The purpose of the Le Va mental health and addiction scholarships is to increase the number of Pacific people working in mental health and addictions and enhance the knowledge and skills of the current Pacific workforce.
