1 July 2nd, 2018: Your Immediate Attention Required July 3rd- July 4 th - Bay Cahoon Park- 11:00 am to 11:00 pm- Check with Jim C to see if more volunteers are needed for both remaining days. week off to concentrate on Bay Days. IF anyone would still like to help, they start at 9:45 am in the Dwyer Center. Future Kiwanis Meetings and Events July 10 th - Regular Board BUMC 6:30pm to 8:00pm The agenda for the regular meeting will include Bay Days discussion: what went right and what went wrong with Bay Days (Car Show, Curly Fries, and Dog, bike, & wagon parade). Plans for the upcoming Scholarship dinner on the 17 th need to be formulated as well as plans for the Golden Spike Dinner. The final topic is to determine the interest level in two guests at a future meeting, AAA Travel Agent sometime in August to present ideas for fall travel and The Berea Animal Rescue Group (ARF) to discuss their work. The Board Meeting will immediately follow the regular meeting. Money needs to be allotted for future projects as well as pay bills. Tentative- July 17 th Scholarship Bay Lodge- 6:15 pm - Meet the Scholarship winners Aug 21 st - Golden Spike Dinner with Westlake Bay Lodge 6:00 pm We are in possession of the Rusty Nail. Lets take home the Golden Spike this year. Other Community Organization Events to Support None this week Previous Meetings and Events Jun 26th- Set up the Curly Fry Booth 6:00 pm - Many Members attended and the booth was assembled in record time. A pizza dinner was served to the hungry laborers. A short Business meeting was held after the construction where a new member was voted in. Special Notices Ray Lain lives in Independence Village in Avon Lake. Please pay him a visit.
3 Bay Food Ministry will happily accept donations of any unexpired, non-perishable food items from the list below, but there is a regular need for brand name cereal, peanut butter, pasta and spaghetti sauce and cans of tuna. Donated items can be placed in the BFM-marked grocery cart at the Main Entrance of Bay Presbyterian Church or brought to the next Kiwanis meeting. Breakfast cereal (no corn flakes, lower sugar brands preferred, Peanut butter (smooth or crunchy), Progresso soups (low sodium), Canned fruit especially Pineapple chunks ( 15 oz), Canned chicken or tuna, Crackers all types, 12 Oz Jam or Jellys, Creamed/ Whole Kernal Corn, Macaroni & Cheese, Baked Beans, Shampoo/Deodorant, Bar Soap, Bathroom Tissue, Paper Towels, Egg Noodles. Be sure and sign up for Portalbuzz. Use your address to sign up. Once signed in check out the interactive calendar and other features for our Club. If you have attended a Kiwanis or other community event, please take some photos, and forward them to Stan G. for inclusion in the newsletter. General Information: The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles now has license plates with the Kiwanis logo and the word Kiwanis on them. The Ohio District Kiwanis Foundation receives $25 from your purchase of this specialized license plate. Go to to order yours today. You do not have to wait until your annual renewal date.
