4 WRO SCIENTIFIC ADVISORY PANEL The scientific and technical activities of the WRO are the responsibility of the scientific advisory panel David Meeker (USA) Martin Alm (Europe) Lucas Cypriano (Brazil) Shane Leath (New Zealand)

5 WRO encourages and supports science-based regulatory framework that will permit the maximum utilization of rendered animal products in a safe and sustainable manner. Education, research, and advocacy are important features of the WRO.

6 WRO Vision To be the principal organization representing the interests of the rendering industry on a global level, serving as a vehicle for exchanging points of view on rendering issues and, where appropriate, to express positions to governments and world organizations. To enhance the contribution of the global rendering industry in improving the environment and in meeting the growing global needs for feed, food, biofuel, and industrial raw materials in a sustainable manner, without adversely affecting the production of food for human consumption

8 WRO LEADERSHIP OBJECTIVES There are two objectives central to this Presidency term 1. Try to grow membership 2. Increase the level of participation The invitation is open for all WRO members or potential future members to contact the WRO with any ideas that they have to make WRO more relevant and useful to them.

10 EFPRA Rendering Workshop June 2014 Sustainability: a key to open door for growth and development The aim was to make people think about how WRO can focus the rendering industry s sustainability credentials in order to open the minds of retailers and consumers Guest speakers from IFIF, Nutreco, and Olymspan, China (Refer to EFPRA Congress 2014 for details of presentations)
