1 EVEN QUICKER,CHEAPER AND SAFER GERMAN-MADE FOR YOUR MULTIPLE METHODS
2 THE PROCESS AND ITS VARIANTS The QuEChERS method, which concerns the analysis of pesticides and other organic contaminants in foodstuffs and feed, has now become indispensable in laboratories. Going beyond the usual application of preparing the sample to determine pesticide residue in fruits and vegetables, this method has now become mainstream for an entire series of additional matrices and multiple residue analysis of additional analyte classes as well. offers you unmatched, low-cost, premium quality standard kits and sorbents, which make your everyday work easier and save time. First, the homogenized samples are extracted with acetonitrile and salts. Afterwards, the supernatant organic phase is cleaned using the dispersive SPE technique. Four methods have become established: The original method with 10 or 15 g of sample material, the methods with 10 g as per EN and the AOAC methods with 15 g of sample material. We offer pre-assembled kits for all of these methods, both for and for the subsequent cleaning step with dispersive SPE. Homogenized sample, 10 or 15 g Add 10 or 15 ml acetonitrile Add internal standard Shake vigorously Add kit (according to the method used) BENEFITS OF : Thanks to consistent high quality and the best prices over the years, QuEChERS Kits have established themselves as one of the most used brands in Germany. Precise sample weighing and strictly-inspected materials ensure high reproducibility salts are exceptionally pourable; the tubes can be easily opened and completely emptied by hand The color-coded screw caps of the 15-mL centrifuge tubes minimize the danger of confusing various PSA mixtures The 2-mL tubes are printed with the product name to clearly distinguish the different kits Tailor-made special fillings are possible at any time even in small batches Support in application development Original method, non-buffered, 10 g sample General samples with low fat content Color samples Original method, non-buffered, 15 g sample AOAC method, buffered, 15 g sample EN method, buffered, 10 g sample Shake vigorously for one minute Centrifuge Remove aliquot from the upper acetonitrile phase Pour 1, 6 or 8 ml aliquot to the selected, dispersive SPE kit. AOAC methods Problem with high fat or wax content Color samples with fats and wax 2 and 15 ml-kits General samples with low fat content Color samples EN15662 methods Problem with high fat or wax content Strong color samples Shake vigorously for 30 sec. Centrifuge Check the sample in an autosampler vial (add 10 µl 5% HCOOH in ACN per ml of sample solution to protect base-sensitive analytes) Analysis: GC-MS/MS or LC-MS/MS
3 QuEChERS EXTRACTION... THE FIRST STEP. Select the right kit (original method 10/ 15 g sample, EN or AOAC) for your desired method. Buffered salt kits are particularly useful for sensitive analytes such as ph-sensitive pesticides. salt mixtures are pre-filled in test tubes by default, and can be easily opened and fully emptied. Over the past several years, this has proven its worth in practice compared to the salt mixtures filled in bags. You may order all the salt kits with the matching 50 ml centrifugal tube or without them, if you wish for other centrifuge tubes. 1. Weigh the 10 g homogenized (frozen) sample in a 50-mL centrifuge pipe. Shake vigorously for 1 min. Citrate-Kit-01 4 g MgSO 4 1 g NaCl 1 g Sodium citrate 0.5 g Sodium citrate sesquihydrate 50 CK CK-01 EN Salt-Kit-AC2 Salt-Kit-AC3 6 g MgSO g Sodium acetate 6 g MgSO g NaCl 50 SK-AC2-050 SK-AC2 AOAC 50 SK-AC3-050 SK-AC3 Original 15 g sample Ready-to-use add BEKOlut 4. salt to the sample mixture 3. Shake vigorously for 1 min. Centrifuge for 6. 5 min. at 3000 U/min 7. Extract after the centrifuge process
4 QuEChERS DISPERSIVE SPE CLEANING... THE SECOND STEP. To clean the organic extracts, select the appropriate dispersive SPE kit depending on the method and matrix. An aliquot of the extract from the first step is provided in a 2-mL or 15-mL centrifuge tube, which contains the QuEChERS components for removing interfering matrix components and binding the available water. The PSA-Kits (including 2 or 15-mL centrifuge tubes) are pre-filled with PSA (primary secondary amine) for removing saccharides and fatty acids, with magnesium sulfate for binding water and/or C18e for removing residual lipids and/or GCB (graphitized carbon black) for removing color pigments and are therefore suitable for direct use. Aliquot the supernatant in a BEKOlut 8. tube filled with sorbents for dispersive clean-up Do you use special mixtures? We already maintain a long list with special fillings; we will also be more than happy to fill your quantity and sorbents of your choice. The 15-mL centrifuge tubes of the dispersive SPE kits are intended for safe differentiation with color-coded covers, which uniquely identify 2 ml centrifuge tubes with a special print. 9. Shake vigorously for 30 sec. Centrifuge for min. at 3000 U/min Pipette the clear extract in 11. a vial after the centrifuge process and adjust the ph to 5 using 5% formic acid in acetonitrile (approx. 10 µl/ml extract). This extract is suitable for both the LC and GC analysis.
