Harry Massage Oz Brochure and prices list 1- Remedial Massage It is a holistic treatment for the whole body to target the discomfort from its original source. It focus on muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues to assist in rehabilitation, pain and injury management. The treatment can be gentle or strong, deep or shallow. Benefits are: balancing the muscle/soft tissue length, tension, tone, increase the flow of blood and lymph, the calming of the peripheral nervous system to ease pain and discomfort. Muscular and skeletal Defects that could be treat by remedial massage are: Fibrositis, Spondylitis, Arthritis, frozen shoulder, muscular cramps, Whiplash, TMJ and jaw soreness and muscular atrophy, sports and dancing injuries. 1 1
2- Relaxation and Swedish massage It helps to de-stress and loosen up your body after a hard working week. The treatment consists of flowing strokes, kneading and gentle manipulations of the muscles performed at your chosen pressure. It is a pain-free massage. It is very relaxing, nurturing, calming to your mind, emotions and your entire being. 3- Deep tissue massage Deep tissue massage is a type of massage aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia but the pressure will generally be more intense. It is more focused and I will work to release chronic muscle tension (knots) It shouldn't hurt but it may be a bit uncomfortable than a classic Swedish massage. I will work with your pressure limits In the day after you may get DOMs (delay onset muscle soreness) which is normal as the waste products were flushed out of the tissues. Keep drinking water. The soreness should go away in a day or so. 2
4-Sports massage Sports massage is bodywork for athlete with the purpose of enhancing the athlete s preparation for, or recovery from, the physical demands of training or competition. It is used to help prevent injuries, to prepare the body for athletic activity and maintain it in optimal condition, and to help athletes recover from workouts and injuries. It has forms: pre-event massage, post-event massage Pre- Event: applied at the start of competition. Post-Event: Cool down after competition 5-Lymphatic Drainage Massage ( Manual Lymphatic Drainage) It is a gentle light touch non-invasive technique that is used to promote the flow of lymph (that is located in the superficial lymph vessels below the surface skin) throughout the body. Conditions that are treated with this type of massage are: Lymphedema, swollen ankle, Swollen wrist, chronic sinusitis, knee swelling due arthritis, chronic fatigue, Migraine, Trigeminal neuralgia. 3 3
6-Trigger point therapy, Myofascial release These are both techniques used during the remedial massage therapy treatment. Trigger point therapy is the treatment of areas of focus hyperirritability in the muscle (knots) that is tender and may refer the pain to other muscle. These hyperirritability areas known as trigger points and caused by some factors such as: muscle overuse, poor posture, nutritional deficiencies, psychological factors, impaired sleep. Treatment include locating the trigger point first then applying different figure techniques at varying pressure strength to deactivate the trigger points. MyoFascial Release (MFR) is a technique that s aim at treating the body through its fascial network. Fascia is a type of tissue inside the body that s gives the body its structure (similar to connective tissue). MFR is target this layer to return the body to its normal balanced alignment. MFR techniques include light to moderate traction and twisting stokes. simplifying IT 7-Taping (Rigid and kinesio) Kinesio tape is a thin, stretchy, elastic cotton strip with an adhesive. It stick to the skin without binding, constricting or restriction of the joint movement. Athletes use kinesiology taping to improve their sporting performance, prevent injury and allow them to return to sport quicker. We can use Kinesio tape to help recovering 5432 Any Street West Townsville, State from the following conditions: Foot issues Carpel tunnel syndrome Lower back strain Shoulder / knee issues Sports injuries Enhance recovery 4 4
Rigid Taping: is used to prevent joint and ligament injury during sport, or to protect and stabilise a previously injured joint. I use Elastoplast rigid tape which is a strong adhesive & rigid construction. It is applied to stabilize the following joints: Ankle, Shoulders and Knee 8-Reflexology (Feet massage) It is very effective way to relax your body and mind. Feet carry our entire body weight every day and it would be sore at the end of the day. Feet massage is a way to ease the soreness and flushing all the toxins so you can return to your normal activities with no more pain. I use a combination of relaxation and Myofascial release technique. I apply Sorbolene as a lubricant and not the massage oil so it absorbs quickly and do not leave your feet slippery after the massage. 5 5
9-Chair massage Chair massage is short 15 minutes massage that covers some areas of your body such as: back, shoulders, neck, arms, hands and scalp. It is usually dry so will be done above the clothing and a variety of techniques will be used such as Swedish, kneading and compression. You will feel refreshed, relaxed, energised and ready to resume your daily activity. 10-Exercises writing (Gym workout program) Exercise program is designed specifically for you to help you get physically and mentally fit. Also to help improve the conditions that you have which cause constant muscle pain such as poor posture. It is a way to treat the muscle pain by strength it and return the body to its balanced state. In remedial massage therapy, we adopt holistic approach of treatment so rather than just treating the pain same spot every time, we look at the original cause (e.g. bad posture) and try to fix that so we eventually remove the muscle pain. It is recommend that you change the workout program every 8-12 weeks so you always are challenged and your body does not get used on the same movements. 6 6
10 Benefits of Massage 1. Decreasing blood pressure and Improve blood circulation 2. Improve skin tone and appearance 3. Simulate parasympathetic nervous system to rest and digest 4. Reduce in muscle tension and relieving cramps 5. Reduce stress, depression and anxiety 6. Improve joints range of motion 7. Mental and emotional benefits 8. improvement in length and quality of sleep 9. increasing concentration ability 10.improved your overall health and well-being The massage session sequence: The massage session starts by greeting you as you arrive and then I ask you to fill the form so I know about you any health issue that you have and allergies so I consider that while massage. Also you will have the chance to mark the body part that are sore on the diagram which will be my main focus during the massage. I may do some screening test to check the Range of motion and see what muscles I need to work on. 7 7
Then I ask you to undress and lye on the table face down. The Massage will start by warming up stocks then the deep work will be slowly introduced based on your tolerance. I will check the pressure occasionally so I make sure that I deliver the right amount of pressure you require. The body parts that are included in 1 hour full body massage are: Back (upper lower and shoulders) legs (front and back) arms, chest and abdomen. If you want the face or feet to be done please let me know at the start so I arrange the time accordingly. Alternatively if you require all body parts to be included feel free to book 90 minutes so the service won t be rush. After massage instructions: It's important to drink a lot of water after massage to help flush lactic acid out of the tissues. If you don't, you might be sore the next day. I will ask you to do some stretches at home to help keeping your sore muscle flexible and reduce the soreness and decrease the risk of injury. I will also recommend doing self-massage at home using any of these equipments such as foam roller and spikey massage ball. I sell them if you require one. 8 8
