1 MIND POWER TRAINING ACTION GUIDE: VIDEO FOUR WITH COLIN HILES

2 HOW TO CRUSH SELF-DOUBT AND REPLACE IT WITH SELF- CONFIDENCE ACCORDING TO RESEARCHERS, THE AVERAGE HUMAN CONCEIVES ABOUT 60,000 THOUGHTS DAILY. That s an awful lot of views. Here s the challenge; most of these thoughts are the same ones we had the previous day. Have you stopped to reflect whether your thoughts are helping or impeding the achievement of your goals? I will discuss two types of thoughts. The first category is what I call RATs, which is an acronym for Reoccurring Afflictive Thoughts. RATs consist of all the negative thoughts you have. They include all the limits, lacks, and negative labels you give yourself. Consciously, you may think, I can achieve my goals, but then subconsciously you believe, I can t achieve my goals. Then, your subconscious wins, and you sabotage your goal. Just like rats like to stay in the shadows and remain hidden, your subconscious beliefs also like to remain outside your cognizance. You may have heard the adage, You re only ever three meters away from a rat. There s so many of them. It could be the same for your subconscious mind.

3 RAISE YOUR AWARENESS YOU NEED TO SHINE A LIGHT IN THE OBSCURITY OF YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS MIND...and put a spotlight on the RATs scurrying around wreaking havoc with your emotions and actions. One of the ways to do this is to pay attention to your feelings. Negative thoughts instigate negative emotions. You may think, No, I am feeling this way because of what happened. That s the belief (RAT) which causes the negative feeling. You can use your feelings as a guide to what s happening with your thoughts. When you feel fearful, doubtful or anxious, ask yourself, What is the belief? What is the thought? Then you can become aware of the RAT causing the negative feeling. It is paramount that you are aware of the rats running around in the darkness of your subconscious. You need to eliminate these discouraging thoughts that keep occurring. What you need is a CAT. You need a lion, bold and mighty. CAT is an acronym for Counter Affirmative Thought. When you have an afflictive thought, you should counter it with an affirmative thought. Suppose your thinking is, I don t think I can accomplish this goal. This is what flashes through your mind. The law of attraction works on energy, Like attracts like. Therefore, when you put yourself in a state of doubt, you emit a lower vibrational frequency. Consequently, you attract situations and people that will prove to you that you are indeed inadequate. If you think you can t realize that goal, it will manifest into reality.

4 AS A COACH, I AM ALWAYS LISTENING TO PEOPLE S LANGUAGE FIRST, YOU NEED TO BECOME AWARE. LISTEN TO YOUR INTERNAL DIALOGUE AND NOTE WHEN A NEGATIVE THOUGHT CROSSES YOUR MIND. Perhaps you are mindful of the feeling. You remember experiencing some anxiety and how it constricts. Because emotions are energy, doubt is a constricted energy. The Power of And Let us now explore how you can change negative thinking by flipping it with a three letter word, And. The word And is superb in the sense that it builds instead of taking away. The opposite of and is but. Take time and listen to your language. As a coach, I am always listening to people s language. They will say things like I d like to find the person of my dreams.. From what we discussed earlier, IF, you can tell that there is an element of inspiration which is evident in the desire. Let me complete my statement, I d like to find the person of my dreams but Whatever follows the but are negative thoughts (RATs) that induce fear. Consequently, the doubt overrides the desire because the subconscious mind is programmed to move from the pain towards the pleasure.

5 FLIPPING NEGATIVE THOUGHTS HOW CAN YOU USE THE POWER OF AND TO FLIP A NEGATIVE TO POSITIVE? When you think, I can never accomplish my goal, try adding and afterward. It may sound something like, I can never accomplish my goal, and now that I have a 90-day plan it is going to give me a higher chance to realize my goals. Can you feel the difference introduced by and? Instead of focusing on all the reasons why you cannot do or be something (which creates doubt) try to dwell on the reasons why you think you can. This will promote positive thinking. See these other examples; I don t think I m good enough and I can learn to become the person I need to be to accomplish my goals. This is too hard, and I can use this opportunity to become mentally stronger. From now henceforth, pay close attention to your language both mental and verbal and catch the buts that follow your desires. Then use the powerful and to flip you from the negative course to the positive and you will attest the significant impact.

6 THE GARDEN AND THE GARDENER BY DESIGN, THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND IS SUBJECT TO THE CONSCIOUS MIND. It s a bit like a garden and its gardener. The subconscious mind is like the garden, the fertile ground while the conscious mind is the gardener sowing the seeds. Whatever you sow with your conscious mind, your subconscious will grow. We all know well that you cannot plant tomato seeds and expect to reap roses. If you sow a negative thought in the subconscious, it will grow in your life as negative results. Similarly, plant a positive view, and it will manifest as positive results in your life. You have to be on the lookout not to sow a negative thought. When a negative thought crosses your mind, you should be swift to overturn it with the trigger word and. You can then enjoy the positive results as a result of sowing the positive thoughts. The more times you can do this, the better. Affirming the Positive - Remember our discussion about linking a thought to a feeling? We established that it is the emotion behind the thought that counts most. So, I came up with what I call affirm motions. These are affirmations with emotion; they link a positive thought to a positive feeling. Dr. Mona Lisa Schulz, MD, Ph.D., and neuroscientist suggests that we can use affirmations or cognitive behavioral therapy to rewire our brain patterns and have it light up differently. To get positive thinking working, we have to couple it with a positive feeling. Thus, it is time to chase the RATs by using CATs, the power of and and affirm motions. Using affirm motions, you will connect to feelings of selfbelief and enthusiasm. Repetition of an affirm motion is the key to flipping negative thought to the positive. When you repeat an affirmation with emotion, it changes the neural pathways in your brain over time, and you conceive a new belief.

7 ACTION TIME 1. My #1 goal is... This action is in three steps. First, write down your #1 goal and list all the possible RATs by listing everything that comes after the but. For instance; #1 goal: I want to find the man of my dreams but 2. List all the RATs using but All the good ones are taken I m not (pretty, smart, funny) enough All the good men I meet are gay and not interested Men can t handle me because I m too deep The final step is to flip each RAT into a CAT using and. It is crucial that you take the time come up with a CAT for each RAT you note as it will contribute significantly to opening several neurological pathways. Example: 3. Flip the RATs into CATs using and All the good men are taken, and I know that can t be entirely true because Alice has just found a good man All the good men are taken, and the ones that haven t have been playing hide and seek from me. It s time for me to look somewhere else All the good men are taken, and that s okay because I m not looking for the good ones, I m after the great ones I am sure you get the idea.
