4 Synthesis Focus: A synthesis across different parts to provide a strategic integrated and cross-thematic assessment. Part 1 Setting the scene Part 2 Synthesis Report Assessing trends Progress: First draft triggered 900 comments, these have been addressed. Second draft available for final consultation until 3 October. Part 3 Looking ahead Final steps: Incorporate final comments, final edit, finalise executive summary, sign-off in first week of November, translations, lay-out, print.
5 Part A Global megatrends Focus: An updated global megatrends (GMT) assessment, presented as 11 GMT briefings and a seperate global megatrend report. Progress : 10 GMT briefings reviewed and revised; 11 th GMT briefing (on governance) available for feedback until 2 Oct. Next steps: Finalise all 11 GMT briefings in Oct; draft two additional chapters for the global megatrend report (introduction and implications). Progress: Second draft briefings made available to Commission Services in July. Final draft of 24 thematic briefings by end of Sep; the 25 th briefing (on green economy) will be drafted in Oct. 12 What happens after 7 November...? On 7 November all content will be final. This means: the synthesis report will be subject to a time-intensive translation; the briefings lay-out will be optimsed for web and four-page pdf; no more changes to any text or figures will be possible; no more data update will be possible. If at that time the character length of any country briefing exceeds the 4-page pdf format, any exceeding text will only be seen online. The only content that will still be editable from then onwards are the country perspective pages under the cross-country comparisons.
