1 Parkinson s Disease Clinical Specialist Information for Patients
2 About the service You have been referred to the Parkinson s Disease Clinical Specialist (PDCS) because you have been diagnosed with Idiopathic Parkinson s Disease. The service is open to anyone with a diagnosis of Idiopathic Parkinson s Disease, who is registered with a Milton Keynes GP. Services are provided in clinic, by telephone or in the person s home for those unable to travel. The PDCS works closely with your Consultant Neuorologist and the Neuro Rehabilitation Service at Bletchley, which has the following specialities: Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy and links to Dietetics. Services provided include: Information, education, advice and support about Parkinson s and its management and care, to people with a diagnosis of Idiopathic Parkinson s Disease, their families, carers and professionals. Helping people with Idiopathic Parkinson s Disease to manage their continuing health and care needs, including completing assessments and reviews and making referrals to appropriate services.
