1 The Perfect Diet TO LOSE WEIGHT AND FEEL HAPPY BY DANIELA BLAGOEVA certified holistic health coach
2 How can someone find a perfect diet? Some people focus on being very careful about eating while some have a more relaxed attitude toward food. Some people are healthy eating animal food while others thrive on a vegetarian or vegan diet. There are more than 100 dietary theories! Which is correct? It s difficult to find substantive nutrition information. Bestselling diet books often disagree with each other. The more extreme the diet, the more copies it sells. Who do you rely on for good, solid nutrition advice?
3 Human beings, like every species, know that what they eat changes everything - not only the way our bodies look, but how we feel, how we behave in other areas of our lives. It's all connected. Over time people experimented, made mistakes, and slowly have started to realize diets don't really work. You know it's true. Diets can have extreme restrictions, literally starving the body, meaning the results are temporary because once the diet ends, the body relaxes, demanding more food than usual, eventually gaining all the "lost" weight back. You can t tell people what kind of relationship to be in or what kind of movies and music they re going to enjoy. Why is it acceptable to tell people what kind of food they should be eating?
4 Understand what foods you re attracted to and why. Food must be about the individual, not about the theory. One person s food is another person s poison. We are an intelligent nation, but we ve outsmarted our own eating intuition. The last place we look to determine what to eat is inside our heart. When people want to determine what to eat, they really need to look and understand themselves. Gender? Age? Culture?
5 Gender Men and women eat differently. What works for women, may or may not work for men. Men usually require more fuel than women. People can become ill by having certain dietary choices forced or pressured onto them.
6 Age People eat very differently at different ages. Think about your diet as a child. What kind of foods did you eat? How much? What about now? As the number of your age changes, your diet also changes because you require different amounts of energy for different periods of your life. Consider the fuel you require to help determine your future.
7 Culture Everyone has a genetic predisposition to eat the foods from the country where their ancestors grew up. What are your safe foods? What foods feed the body and the soul? I was born in Bulgaria. We love potatoes and bread. I've moved around quite a bit to notice that my eating styles changed with the change of climate and culture, but none the less, I always found that potatoes and bread were my safe foods. Until this day I make my mom cook all my favorite Bulgarian dishes because they remind me of home, of my happy childhood days, bringing me closer to my roots with every bite. And that makes me feel grounded, connected.
8 Cravings Your age, culture, and gender also link to cravings. Living in more tropical climates, you are more likely to crave lighter foods like fruits and juices. Being a 5 year old boy living in Canada will have different cravings than a 5 year old boy living in South Africa. What about physical activity? Different types of physical activity produce different cravings. Do you lift weights or do yoga? Even life events can trigger cravings. How many times have you heard the "ice cream after a breakup" scenario? Do you see how many factors play in making your perfect diet? Understand how to deconstruct cravings by experimenting with similar foods or building small amounts into your diet.
9 Conclusion There is really no way to tell someone how and what they should be eating. We are all individual beings. One man's food is another man's poison. The perfect diet is a style of living that adjusts with your way of life and growth. What you need to be looking at is what makes you happy? What makes you feel good in your body? And do it. You know better than any diet book what feeds your body healthy. If you have food cravings that you don't want, see how you can substitute the foods you crave with better, healthier alternatives. Remember...there's always a way to be happier, healthier, and more fulfilled. This is your life and it's your responsibility to live it fully.
