Keep employees healthy through smart technology. BIOMETRICS SOFTWARE INSIGHT
Healthy employees. Healthy company. Investing in your employees health is one of the wisest decisions you can make. The TruSense Health Employer Program is the frontline tool that helps you improve workplace wellness effectively and efficiently. An innovative remote health monitoring platform, TruSense keeps employees continually aware of their health metrics, so problems can be quickly addressed. Offering a window into the White Space the time between visits to a healthcare professional when crucial health data may be unknown TruSense gives employees the tools to be proactive with their health. With better monitoring, chronic conditions can be prevented before they become costly claims, while helping healthy employees to stay healthy. The end result? More affordable insurance premiums, fewer claims, improved productivity, and a happier and healthier workforce. TruSense helps create a culture of health that benefits everyone. More affordable insurance premiums, fewer claims, improved productivity, and a happier and healthier workforce.
The financial impact of undiagnosed and unmanaged health conditions The cost of health insurance has more than tripled over the past twenty years 1, and companies of all sizes are seeing premiums increase across the board. 2 Chronic health conditions, which account for 86% of all healthcare expenditures 3, are a primary driver of these growing costs. Each year, more and more U.S. adults are affected by pre-chronic or chronic health conditions, which often go undiagnosed or unmanaged until they become severe or even irreversible. 4,5,6,7,8 Even just slightly elevated blood pressure raises the risk of heart attack by 350%. 9 UNDIAGNOSED AND UNMANAGED CHRONIC HEALTH CONDITIONS MAKE UP A SIGNIFICANT SUBSET OF TOTAL CASES 50% 40% 30% 20% 10% 0% Obesity U.S. ADULTS WITH UNDIAGNOSED/ UNMANAGED CONDITION U.S. ADULTS AFFLICTED WITH THE CONDITION
The Research On Remote Health Self-Monitoring Recent scientific research shows that self-monitoring and sharing key health data yields more positive outcomes. One study found that when patients were given the means to measure and share their own vital biometric data, hospitalizations decreased by 44% and the average number of days spent hospitalized decreased by 64%. 10 Others have demonstrated that daily self-measurement of body weight results in higher adoption of healthy habits associated with weight loss, and more weight loss overall. 11,12 American Heart Association guidelines also stress the importance of self-monitoring blood pressure to confirm hypertension diagnoses. In addition, it can also identify cases of masked hypertension, defined as a normal blood pressure reading in a medical setting but elevated when at home. It s important to recognize masked hypertension early because its risks are similar to sustained hypertension. 13 On average, just 6% of an employer s population drives 47% of total healthcare spending. 14 TruSense user-friendly weight and biometric monitoring makes it easy to maintain healthy weight and identify chronic health conditions in early stages. Proactive Prevention Can Eliminate Future Expenses Most of the cost of lost productivity can be attributed to the chronically ill. And the growing number of U.S. adults with multiple chronic conditions 15,16,17 such as type 2 diabetes, COPD, hypertension, and heart disease is compounded by the climbing nationwide obesity rate. 18 However, a reduction of just 1% in excess weight, blood pressure, glucose, and cholesterol levels has been shown to save roughly $80-$100 annually per person in medical costs. 19 To that end, TruSense provides a user-friendly means of consistent weight and biometrics monitoring, making it much easier to maintain healthy weight, adopt healthier lifestyle habits 20, and identify chronic health conditions in their early stages THE INCREASE IN U.S. ADULTS WITH MULTIPLE CHRONIC CONDITIONS CORRELATES WITH RISING U.S. OBESITY U.S. ADULTS WITH MULTIPLE CHRONIC CONDITIONS (IN MILLIONS) % 40% 35% 30% U.S. OBESITY RATE
Why You Should Put TruSense To Work. The valuable information gained from using TruSense can be used to enhance your current employee wellness program, or to serve as a basis for a brand new one. Programs that include health monitoring drive better results and higher ROI than conventional wellness and lifestyle management programs do on their own. In fact, wellness programs designed to identify and manage chronic disease give an ROI of 380%. $4.00 $3.00 $2.00 $1.00 SUPERIOR RETURN ON INVESTMENT $2.00 $3.80 Reduce the Cost of Lost Productivity & Increase Retention $0.00 $0.50 Lifestyle Management Program Conventional Wellness Program Disease Management Program Full-time workers with chronic health problems collectively miss about 450 million more days of work annually, compared to healthy employees. 21 While most companies recognize the benefits of creating a culture of health and monitoring highrisk employees, very few have implemented the necessary technology. THE HEALTH MONITORING DISPARITY: EMPLOYEE VALUES VS. EMPLOYER OFFERINGS 22 And with the prospect of reduced insurance premiums and improved health, it s easy for employees to see the value in employer-sponsored health monitoring which makes TruSense an ideal tool for retention. 0 10% 20% 30% 40% 50% 60% OFFERED BY EMPLOYERS VALUED BY EMPLOYEES How TruSense Health Works The TruSense Health program for employers includes a Quick Start Tool Kit. The kit contains everything you need to implement a connected, community-based hardware program that makes it easy for your employees to make better health decisions. The hardware itself is included along with scripted communications and informational materials designed to help maintain engagement among employees. Once employees download the free app, they re able to quickly set up custom reminders and alerts and connect to the appropriate monitoring devices. The Quick Start Tool Kit includes a best-in-class blood pressure monitor and weight scale, but spirometers, blood glucose meters, or pulse oximeters can be added to better suit the needs of your workforce. Once connected, the devices can begin to capture actionable health data. Recorded results are stored within the app and automatically shared only with the people the individual chooses. Importantly, TruSense protects your employees privacy by de-identifying their health data when they share it with you. Employee names aren t visible, with only aggregated health trend data displayed on the employer dashboard. Better health awareness means greater control over one s own health. With TruSense, previously unknowable health trends become clear, giving users the drive to embrace healthier lifestyle habits. This leads to healthier employees, fewer insurance claims, and reduced premiums ultimately giving you a TruSense of knowing you re doing the best for your employees and your company.
Our focus is on creating proactive health solutions for all. At TruSense, we re driven to help create a healthier population through the innovative use of connected technology. We work with individuals, healthcare providers, hospitals, wellness providers, insurers and employers to provide a true sense of the health and wellness of themselves, their employees or their patients helping ensure that health goals are being met. Our company is a visionary team experienced in developing innovative data collection solutions encompassing millions of connected devices. Our goal is to provide people with technology that engages them with their health and well-being and encourages a proactive approach to living a healthier, happier life.
