WHO WE ARE Pure Life was created by a young family of essential oil consumers who love to organize. After searching for regular storage boxes and blending products we realized that, separately, each product can be quite expensive, not all bottles fit inside the boxes, and the boxes can easily break or get scratched. We knew there must be a way to create an essential oils storage box that was affordable and included all the needed materials for blending specialized essential oil blends for everyone in our family. We decided to solve this dilemma ourselves. We are a growing family living in Costa Rica, a beautiful tropical country in Central America. We work hard to find and craft innovative and sustainable solutions for our customers real world needs. Thank you for being an awesome customer - you are the lifeblood of our business and we want to make sure you get the most out of your purchase! The Kit We carefully sourced each item in this kit according to the needs of an avid user of essential oils. In this guide we will show you how to use each of these items to make amazing blends, as well as inspire you with some blending ideas that might be new to you! Finally, we include lots of data about how to safely blend oils for your loved ones of all sizes and ages, with the precision you need when dealing with the highly concentrated plant extracts that essential oils are. We love to hear back from our customers, so feel free to get in touch with us at info@purelifeproducts.co.

WHY BAMBOO? IIn case you missed it, our box is made out of bamboo. But don't worry - our panda friends still have plenty of bamboo to eat! You might ask: "Whats the difference between pine, bamboo or any other wood?". Let me explain, this is where we get excited about our box. Bamboo is a premium raw material. Did you know that it is: Green: Bamboo is the second best natural absorber of CO2 after algae and produces up to 35% more Oxygen than trees, resulting in a super green material. Strength: Bamboo has an insanely strong yet pliable structure, resulting in a higher tensile strength than steel, which is why it is widely used in the green construction industry. How crazy is that Chemical-Free: Bamboo does not require fertilizers for optimal growth. Discarded leaves of bamboo provide all needed nutrients when they start to decompose. Renewable: Bamboo is the fastest growing plant on the planet and is technically a type of grass. It can grow 3 feet in height in 24 hours under appropriate climate and soil conditions. Unlike conventional tree-based wood materials, bamboo reaches maturity after only 3 to 5 years. Pine may be cheaper, but Bamboo is superior for you, I, and our planet!
DILUTION GUIDELINES Essential oils are powerful constituents derived from plants. They are very concentrated and may cause adverse effects when not used properly. Oils must be diluted with an appropriate carrier oil. Some manufacturers sell pre-diluted varieties. Consult your essential oil manufacturer for information on appropriate dilutions and which oils are best used for young children and infants..different ages and applications call for differing dilution rates (ratio of carrier oil to essential oil)
1% dilution For children two through six and individuals who need to take a more gentle path, such as those who are working to heal from serious health concerns or may have compromised immune function. This dilution is also a good rule of thumb for pregnant/nursing women, but in some cases, a dilution of up to 2.5% may be appropriate. 1.5% dilution For children ages six through fifteen. For ease of use, I sometimes round down to a 1% dilution. It s hard to measure out half a drop! 2.5% dilution This is typically the dilution recommended for most adults. It is also commonly used for daily body care products and massage oils. For facial skin care, a 1% is better. Because half a drop is hard to measure, I usually round down this dilution to 2%. 3 10% dilution Most often used for support during certain kinds of injuries or acute illness. The dilution ratio depends on the situation, the age of the individual, and the type of oil being used. 25% dilution Used on rare occasions to soothe muscle cramps/spasms, bruising, etc.
OIL CONVERSIONS Ounces > Millileters 1% DILUTION 1 oz = 30 ml = 600 drops of oil 1% of 600 drops is 6 1/8th oz 1/4th oz 1/2 oz 1 oz 4 oz 8 oz 16 oz 3.75 ml 7.5 ml 15 ml 30 ml 120 ml 237 ml 473 ml Add 6 drops of essential oil for 1 oz of carrier oil or finished product. 2% DILUTION 1 oz = 30 ml = 600 drops of oil 2% of 600 drops is 12 Add 12 drops of essential oil for 1 oz of carrier oil or finished product. 20 DROPS OF EO IN 1ML Ounce > Drops 1/8th oz 75 drops 1/4th oz 150 drops 1/2 oz 300 drops 1 oz 600 drops 3% DILUTION 1 oz = 30 ml = 600 drops of oil 3% of 600 drops is 18 Add 18 drops of essential oil for 1 oz of carrier oil or finished product.
CARRIER OILS Carrier oil, also known as base oil or vegetable oil, is used to dilute essential oils and absolutes before they are applied to the skin in massage and aromatherapy. They are so named because they carry the essential oil onto the skin. Carrier oils do not contain a concentrated aroma, unlike essential oils, though some, such as olive, have a mild distinctive smell. Neither do they evaporate like essential oils, which are more volatile. The carrier oils used should be as natural and unadulterated as possible. Many people feel organic oils are of higher quality. Cold-pressing and maceration are the two main methods of producing carrier oils. The carrier oil can also aid with the absorption of the oils into the skin, as well as preventing irritation of the skin. Each carrier oil has unique characteristics and benefits of its own, so choose the one that suits your needs best. Here are some common oils: Fractionated Coconut Oil Jojoba Oil Sweet Almond Oil Olive Oil Sunflower Oil Castor Oil Argan Oil Apricot Kernal Oil
