Good News Encino! California s Best health care for kids is right in your backyard.

Children s Hospital Los Angeles Founded in 1901, Children s Hospital Los Angeles is one of the nation s leading children s hospitals and is acknowledged worldwide for its leadership in pediatric and adolescent health. CHLA is one of only 12 children s hospitals in the nation and the only one in California to be named to the prestigious U.S. News & World Report Honor Roll for 2015-16. Children s Hospital Los Angeles is a premier teaching hospital and has been affiliated with the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California since 1932. The same expert physicians caring for children at the nationally renowned Children s Hospital Los Angeles will be seeing patients in the hospital s new outpatient center in Encino. Located west of the 405 and 101 interchange, just north of Ventura Boulevard, Children s Hospital Los Angeles Encino will offer convenient access to a wide variety of pediatric specialists for initial evaluation and follow-up care. Areas of Care offers Board-certified and Board-eligible pediatric specialists from the following areas: Hematology, Oncology and Blood and Marrow Transplantation The Children s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases is the leading referral center in the western United States for the diagnosis and treatment of childhood cancers and blood diseases. The Center operates the largest, most expansive hematology-oncology program in Los Angeles, with only a few peers nationwide, offering access to a wide variety of leading-edge clinical trials and research consortia. Center specialists are nationally and internationally respected experts who have been providing leading-edge care and pioneering diagnostic and treatment advances for infants, children and adolescents with cancer and blood diseases for more than five decades. Why is it important to see pediatric specialists? They are trained in treating childhood illnesses and injuries. Their care is age-appropriate, helping children continue to achieve the important developmental milestones of childhood. Their goal is family-centered care, treating parents as an integral part of the health care team. They provide a care environment tailored to make children feel safe and protected.

Neurology The Division of Neurology provides consultative care for children with a variety of chronic or recurrent neurological conditions including seizure disorders, epilepsy, headaches and migraines, developmental disabilities and delays, cerebral palsy, movement disorders, neuromuscular disorders, neurogenetic disorders, degenerative conditions and neuropathies. These Board-certified child neurologists are part of a larger team of child neurologists and related services at our Los Angeles campus. In general, children needing care for acute neurological conditions or an initial evaluation of seizures and epilepsy will be referred to the main hospital. Comprehensive evaluation of autism spectrum disorders and limited management of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are available through the Boone Fetter Clinic at CHLA s main campus. Laboratory Services* The Laboratory Services staff offer unparalleled expertise in pediatric phlebotomy and provide compassionate care while minimizing the sample size taken from pediatric patients. To ensure accurate and timely results, samples are transported several times a day to the main testing center at Children s Hospital Los Angeles. All ages are welcome and no appointment is necessary. Nephrology Our expert staff treat children with a wide range of kidney disorders, including acute renal failure, end-stage renal disease, hypertension, nephrotic syndrome, urinary tract infection, and other acquired diseases and injuries from infancy through adolescence. Our Division is pioneering new tools, treatments and lifestyle-changing clinical programs. We are at the forefront of regional, national and international efforts to bring about healthier lives for children. *See back panel for location

Division physicians provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care for infants, children, adolescents and young adults with hereditary and acquired genitourinary disorders. This can include evaluations of the genitourinary tract, circumcisions, hernias, hydroceles, orchidopexy for undescended testes, hypospadias, kidney and bladder surgery, and complex genitourinary reconstruction.
