26 Continuum When people are able to achieve retention in care, they are able to achieve viral suppression. In the Uvalde HSDA, 54% of total PLWH have achieved viral suppression, and 86% of PLWH who are retained in care achieved viral suppression. Retention in care is a priority area. 68% of PLWH had at least one episode of HIV care & treatment. This means roughly 7 PLWH were in care. 54% of PLWH were virally.
