Chamber of Commerce Meeting July 6, 2016 Present: Dena Beck, Marcy Brandt, Erica Hansen, Natalie Janda, Sally Jurgensmier, Joelle Knott, Jordan Patterson, Don Phillips, and Chamber Director Marcia Davis Absent: Janene Hill, Kevin Krull, Carol Loschen Meeting was called to order at 12.15pm by President Marcy Brandt Joelle Knott moved to approve the June Secretary minutes and current Treasurer report as submitted. Erica Hansen second, motion approved. Old Business I. Check signing policy-direct deposit: Direct deposit is not an option due to the amount being different each month. Finding someone to sign the checks has not been a problem as of lately so decided to drop the discussion for now. II. Community Ag BBQ, Wednesday, July 20: As of the meeting, volunteers were still needed for the BBQ. Details as far as time slots and number of volunteers needed will be emailed to members the closer we get the fair. III. Shop Local: Marcy is working with the city to create a campaign and simplify it a little. They would like to meet with people interested in the campaign for ideas and input. IV. Street Dance: There was a lot of talk about the success of the street dance this year, way to go! We cleared $90.09 (pending the charge from SOS). 27 tickets were used by 16 different Chamber Businesses, and we gained a new chamber member. V. Audit Committee: Marcy, Janene, & Carol looked over everything and Carol will write up a summary. Mentions of calling it a Finance Committee (not an Audit). New Business I. July 4th Fireworks: Another successful event. The Chamber was hoping for a 30 minute show, but the show lasted between 15-20 minutes. Would like to somehow count the number of people attending next year. Committees I. Ambassadors- next meeting is Aug 10, 12-1pm, Pizza Hut II. Promotions- next meeting is July 14, 12pm, Minden Opera House III.
