3 July Quarter Lunch Thank you Cassandra Tomsen, Dan Dorn, Johnie Kamery for speaking about the Kearney CO Fair. Windmill Studios 521 North Colorado (308) Windmill Studios become a part of the community in 2011 and since opening many improvements and updates have been made to the facility. With more to come, continue to watch for more improvements. Windmill Studios provides a comfortable and welcoming environment for all kinds of activities, birthday parties, reunions, retirement parties as well as wedding receptions. Need a place for a business meeting? Keep Windmill Studios in mind, a large projector screen is available for presentations. In addition, during the week they also have other activities such as karate, art classes and church youth group. For the last six years Windmill Studios have hosted the Chamber Christmas Carnival that kicks off Minden s Christmas City Traditions Festival. If you re looking to have a large or small gathering check them out they are downtown off the Northwest corner of the square.

October 13, :00 12:00 pm Kearney County Health Services 727 E. 1 st St. Minden, NE Minden Chamber Board Meeting July 11, :00 pm Breakaway Bar & Grill Called to order 5:09 pm Roll Call: Marcy Brandt, Amy Fuqua, Erica Hansen, Natalie Janda, Joelle Knott, Kirk Peterson, Dawn Thompson Absent: Kevin Krull, Simon McKenzie, Connor Peterson, Kim Snavely, Rebecca Thornburg Approval June Secretary & Treasurer s reports Erica made a motion, Amy seconded. All voted in favor. Old Business Dawg Days Marcia presented a financial summary. The decals ordered through Owen were $100 cheaper than anticipated. The bottom line is that we cleared $ Next year s band will be Blackberry Winter. There is a class reunion group that will underwrite $600 of that expense, so Marcia is already working on lining them up. Cornhole had 29 teams. Golf tournament had 13 teams. There was talk of expanding more events from 1:00 3:00, but the Chamber cannot head that up. We just need to find other groups who are willing to take that on. Cornhole tournament could likely expand so we will need more space next year. The committee did a good wrap up meeting and have more extensive notes for how to improve it next year. Overall it was a great day. Fair Community BBQ July 25 th 5:30 7:00 pm. Last year we bought 175 pounds each of pork and beef and had a lot leftover. Fritz s Meat said 150 pounds of each would serve about 1,000 people. Leftovers will be used at the Car Show and Bandfest, but we prefer not to have a lot of leftovers. It was decided to do 1,000 buns, 125 pounds of each meat, approximately 850 bags of chips and 850 cookies. Gary Thompson Agency is providing cups for the drinks. FSA might be assisting with drinks, but they re struggling to find help. Chamber may need to assist with making drinks. Marcia will get everything ordered. Volunteers are needed for set up, serving, and clean up. Car & Craft Show July 28 th 10:00 am 3:00 pm. 5-6 volunteers are needed to help serve food for lunch. Fireworks The fireworks company asked how the fireworks went, as there had been a new technician setting them off. The show lasted 29 minutes and feedback has been good. Donations totaled $1,027. Last year was approximately $100 more. Marketing Grant Nothing new to report. New Business Christmas Festival Nov. 23 Dec. 2. Ladies Night Out date was set for Friday, November 30 th. Marcy and Marcia will get a Facebook event set up to start advertising. It will include a passport and map this year. At the next meeting we will discuss entertainment on the square and how we want the rest of the festival to look. Next meeting will be August 1 at 12:00 pm at Cozy Corner Café. Amy moved to adjourn. Dawn seconded. All voted in favor. Meeting was adjourned at 5:49 pm. Respectfully submitted by Marcy Brandt, Secretary
