SQUEAKS & SQUEALS Mid Maine Lewiston Chapter #1980 March 2012 Volume 13, Issue 3 http://www.mmlhog.org Hot Line: (207)758 0633 From the Director Well I truly cannot believe that it is March 8 th and it is 60 degrees as I write this. Wow, is spring here? We can only hope. I actually passed nine motorcycles on the road today. I could not imagine thinking how dangerous the roads still are. The amount of sand and salt covering the roads makes it dangerous. If you are one of those few enjoying this weather on your bike, be safe!! Make sure you get that salt off the bike. We had a great ride planning meeting. The food was wonderful, the conversation fun, and a lot was accomplished. Many great rides have been put on the calendar. Our first ride is May 5 th. It is a mystery ride and I am looking forward to riding with you all. L A Harley has something happening each weekend in March. Some of the events include; Wings and Rings with $1 drafts on Saturday, March 10 th. Ladies Garage Party, Friday, March 16 th. The Cash machine will be at L A Harley on March 17 th and a movie night on Friday, March 23 rd. Check the website for seminars that will also be offered in March. The Bike raffle is off to a great start. We are always in need of volunteers to give an hour or two on Saturday s to sell tickets. If you are available, please contact Henry at hmaheux@roadrunner.com. It takes the whole chapter to make this fundraiser a success. Hope to see you at L A Harley on a Saturday or at our next Chapter meeting on Saturday, April 7 th at 9:00am. Director, Kathi Yergin: Opened the meeting with approval of the minutes from the last meeting as published in the newsletter. 1 st, 2 nd, approved as written. Facebook. 150 members from all over the United States. This has been good; we can share info and get ideas from other chapters. Website: Don Gabriel has volunteered to take on our chapter website. Officer meetings this is where much of the discussion on a topic occurs. If any member wants to address anything with the chapter please speak to a primary officer to have the subject brought to the officer meeting prior to presenting to the chapter. No Saturday food/lunch sales in March. We may continue at a later date; unknown at this point. The Saturday food sales were a good source of fund raising for the chapter. Also, it was really fun serving and talking to customers, chapter members, and employees. We are working with Shriners to get into some events to sell raffle tickets. Lots of upcoming L/A events. Check the dealer website or Facebook. Lorrie Stephenson Treasurer: Gave a readout of current treasure report; 1 st, 2 nd, approved. Lenore Charest Membership: Currently we have 70 paid members.
