PTA e-noticeboard Issue 15, January 16th, 2015 Welcome to the PTA e-noticeboard. This is a newsletter put together by parents for parents. The aim is to create a community noticeboard where you can promote products or services that are of interest to others, and enhance our community. If you would like to place an advert please email pta@thebritishschool.pl. The next edition will be published on Friday, January 23 rd. American Friends in Warsaw Founded over 20 years ago, American Friends in Warsaw (AFW) is a multi-national organization composed of individuals and families from around the world who want to make the most of their time in Warsaw by making new and lasting meaningful friendships, fill their social calendar with fun activities for them and their families and make positive contributions to the community. AFW Membership includes: Kick-off party at the U.S. Ambassador s residence, Wine Social Evenings & Cocktail Party, Annual Christmas & Easter Holiday Parties, Kulig Sleigh Ride, Weekly Ice Skating Sessions, Monthly Coffee Mornings & Luncheons, Monthly Tours & Trips, Monthly Newsletter and many more events and activities for parents and children. If you are interested in learning more, please contact AmericanFriendsinWarsaw@gmail.com AFW Ice Skating Sessions Wondering what to do with your family during the cold and long Polish winter? How about join AFW members for an hour of ice skating on select Sundays from October through April at 5:15pm - 6:15pm? AFW rents the ice rink at Torwar for members to enjoy uncrowded rink time! The cost is free to AFW members and their guests pay 20 pln. Skate rental is available in all sizes, including for very small children, plus penguins to hold unto and skate around the ice with. Non-members can join AFW at the ice rink check-in desk. The next ice skating dates are: Sundays, February 1, 8 & 15 at 5:15pm-6:15pm. Torwar indoor ice rink is located at ul. Łazienkowska 6a, Warszawa.
