On borders: pre-import permit, sampling on arrival, registration. Transhumance: with Syrian borders (Syrian control coordination).
Husbandary Systems and Livestock Marketing Network (contd.) 3-Stakeholders categories are registered at ARD (for cattle, SR, Pork): 4-Incentives: free identification, vaccinations, detergents and disinfectant distribution. 5-Regulation pertaining animal production is described in the Animal Resources Directorate legislation as well as in the food law.

Consequences of FMD Incidence 1-In general FMD occurrence is a mild infection but: Milk production: decrease estimated to 30%. Meat production: decrease estimated of 10 % (Lebanon is an importing country for meat). FMD abortions are negligible.
Surveillance and Control Progress Strict control on imports. Strict implementation of vaccination programs. Notification. Implication of human resources: (recruitment, training, etc ) Extension program to farmers and producers. Updating legislations
Transparency and commitment for FMD Control Notification to OIE. Computerized information system. http://www.agriculture.gov.lb/nadss/login.aspx Storing of FMD data and Lab results. Sharing information with neighboring (Syria and Jordan) and regional countries (OIE Regional Commission for the Middle East), and exporting countries. Risk hot spots identified.

Conclusion Lebanon fulfilled requirements for FMD PCP Pathway stage I and continuing its surveillance plan to reach stage II and stage III at least for 2015. Lebanon requested an OIE twinning process with ARRIAH(OIE reference laboratory for FMD).
