Berri District Youth Club Newsletter Term Three, 2017 Kindergym turns 5 IIMPORTANT DATES July 24th-27th-Term Three Starts August 1st-24th-Father s Day Raffle and Kytons Pie Fundraiser September 8th-Bunning BBQ (Kindergym Fundraiser) 15th & 16th-Riverland Field Days Drinks Van fundraiser 25th-28th Term Three Finishes 30th Sept-1st Oct-Gymnastics Camp (Selected gymnasts/coaches) October 14th-Holiday Program (Open to members and the public) 16th-19th-Term Four Starts (All groups) Members celebrated our Kindergym s 5th Birthday following the successful launch of a second class. The program is now offering classes on both a Tuesday and Wednesday from 9.30am-10.30am. More than 130 people joined us for morning tea over the two day celebrations. Our Vision is that the Berri District Youth Club Inc. is recognised within the community for developing gymnastics as the best physical and personal activity for the youth in the area. Our Mission is to provide the opportunities for all members regardless of sex, race or ability to develop their involvement, skill level and personal satisfaction in their chosen sport.

Another little gymnast!! Welcome New Coaches Bethany Philp-Beginner women s gymnastics. Bethany was a level 10 gymnast and spent 2 years training at the Australian Institute of Sport. New Qualifications Congratulations to. Kaitlyn Rodden who has progressed from a Demonstrator to a Junior Coach. Karen Scholz who recently passed her Beginner Coaches course. Amanda Rodden who passed the Intermediate Women s Gymnastics course. Well done girls!!! 2017 Gym SA Winter Coaches Congress Thank you to our coaches for attending this year s Congress to keep up to date with the latest coaching techniques and ideas. Kindergym-Karen Baxter and Jane Schrapel Women s Gymnastics-Carolyn Martin and Michael Herrmann Gym for All-Jody Scott, Paul Haenen and Amanda Rodden. Thank you also to the Junior Coaches and Demonstrators who attended Congress Shannan Baxter, Levi McFarlane, Layne and Abby Fenwick, Phoebe and Kaitlyn Rodden. Coaches then presented what they had learnt at our Term 3 Club Coaches Workshop, so that all our coaches are up to date. New Clubrooms Update Lamington fundraiser Thank you so much to everyone who sold lamingtons this year. Top Sellers Michael Herrmann (Golds) $428 Peter Jarvis (Golds) $347 Tyler & Samuel Hicks (Juniors) $296 Winners received a special gymnastics prize. Just four months to go before we start to set up our New Clubrooms!!!

Berri Gymnastics Competition A record 150 entries were received this year with all groups taking part. A big thank you to all the parents and family members who came along to support their gymnasts. We raised $815 towards our new clubrooms project. Congratulations to all our volunteers on such a well run event. We have received lots of great feed back. Well done!! Kindergym Kids Second Class for Term 3 Numbers have increased again this year in our popular Kindergym program, so we have added another session. Tuesdays (during school terms) 9.30-10.30am Call Karen Baxter ph: 0418 810 940 to enrol now!! Berri Pre-School Have been enjoying some Kindergym classes with us during Term 2. If your pre-school or kindergarten are interested please call Karen Baxter. New Accessories We have purchased a number of accessories during the Winter Coaches Congress including bells, blocks, counters, hop scotch mat, large parachute, scooter boards and steps to keep the program fun and interesting while the children learn new skills. World Gymnaestrada Fundraising Bunnings BBQ Thank you to everyone who supported our BBQ fundraiser, we made $700. 2nd Hand Stall Lots of nice warm clothing and shoes available at just $2 each. Grab a bargain today!! Holiday Program Thank you to all the children who participated in our gymnastics holiday program. The next program will be held on Saturday 14th October.
