Introduction to APS The Australian Psychological Society (APS) is the largest professional association for psychologists in Australia, representing more than 18,000 members. The APS is committed to advancing psychology as a discipline and profession. It spreads the message that psychologists make a difference to peoples lives, through improving scientific knowledge and community wellbeing.
Introduction to COP APS members and student members can join interest groups or colleges which promote specialty areas of psychology. One of these is the College of Organisational Psychologists (COP). COP Value Proposition: Supporting organisational psychologists to achieve success through professional development and networking, access to the latest research and tools; raising our public profile and representing our members on issues that matter!
APS Colleges Promote the Profession of Psychology Maintain practice standards and quality assurance. Encourage and support the education and professional development of specialist practitioners by: Holding seminars, workshops, courses and conferences; Publishing newsletters and publications; Performing a range of activities on behalf of members.
APS Colleges Promote the Profession of Psychology COP Elevator Pitch: Organisational Psychology is the science of people at work. Organisational psychologists specialise in analysing organisations and their people, and devising strategies to recruit, motivate, develop, change and inspire.
Our Members COP has; 486 members across Australia Membership consists of; Postgraduate Students Early Career Organisational Psychologists, Senior/Experienced Organisational Psychologists Academics Approximately 100 members are students!
Why Become a Student Member? If you are a student member of the APS ($75) to become a student member of COP the COST = $0 BENEFITS: Network with a diverse range of practitioners, academics and other students; COP facilitates new entrants into Organisational Psychology (e.g., new mentoring program). Involvement in the committee especially increases your career opportunities (i.e., research, placement, experience, and employment). Exposure to knowledge of latest discoveries, recent trends, popular tools, and important information Heavily discounted professional development events (i.e., 50% discount for members).
