6 Why Essential Oils? From the Essential Oil Desk Reference Convention Edition, (5th), European scientists have studied the ability of essential oils to work as natural chelators, binding with heavy metals and petrochemicals and ferrying them out of the body. 2. In the human body, essential oils stimulate the secretion of antibodies, neurotransmitters, endorphins, hormones, and enzymes. 3. Because of their complexity, essential oils do not disturb the body s natural balance or homeostasis.

Lipid-soluble molecules, however, can cross readily, while the transfer of large-molecular-weight molecules tend not to enter.

One drop is a lot for a child, especially if it s the first time exposed to the potency of a true therapeutic grade essential oil. Keep in mind that living pathogens also strive for life so a battle might show up as symptoms like a rash for instance.
