2 GENERAL CONDITIONS Le MUP Festival is a non-profit organization aiming to promote movies with human values and help the meeting between emerging and established professionals. The following are the rules to submit a film to the MUP Festival Anyone depositing a film for the Festival confirms therefore, they have read the following and approved it. Article 1 - Registration conditions Article 2 - Registration Procedure - Invoicing Article 3 - Publication and Broadcasting Authorizations Article 4 - Ranking - Prizes Article 5 Le MUP reserved rights Article 6 - Terms of Cancellation Article 1 Registration conditions 1. «Short films» category Only films that meet the following criteria may be registered: Carry out human / humanist values, To represent a continent (origin or residence of the director), Having been produced after January 1, 2017, Not exceeding 30 minutes, Presenting the cinema characteristic of a short film (narration, photography, sound track, editing ). We accept any kind of production: fiction, animation, documentary Submission must be made by the one of the film s right holders, Filmmaker can only register one film. 2. Category «Very Short films» Only films that meet the following criteria may be registered: Carry out human / humanist values To represent a continent (origin or residence of the director), Having been produced after January 1, 2017, Not exceeding, Presenting the cinema characteristic of a short film (narration, photography, sound track, editing ). Le MUP s team points Le MUP reserves the right to refuse the registration of any films, which are purely of a promotional nature, as well as pornographic films, and films which encourage violence. In the short films category, Le MUP reserves the right of the film s selection. The selection committee will favour the films made independently. There will be thirty or so of films selected. The MUP encourages students to submit their film if they meet the above criteria outlined. Article 2 - Registration Procedure - Invoicing 1. During the registration process, the film has to be available directly via Film Freeway (mp4/mkv/avi 1080p H264) (We will ask you to send us a digital copy of your work once validated for the festival). Films in the original version are accepted with subtitles (srt) in English and / or in French. The film file must also include these documents: the synopsis and still of the film, a picture and short bio of the director, and a technical sheet of the film crew. The right holder gives authorization to Le MUP to use all this information to promote the film, in compliance with the participant. The digitalization quality of the films being dependent on the technical quality of the supports, Le MUP cannot be held responsible for the quality of broadcasting. The participant must make sure of the quality of his film. In the case of difficulty to upload, Le MUP could request to send the film on USB stick. All transportation costs, as well as the shipping are entirely borne by the sender. The materiel sent will not be returned. For films from outside of Canada, please remember to include the following information on the parcel: FILM VIDEO FOR FESTIVAL NO COMMERCIAL VALUE CULTURAL PURPOSE ONLY 2. The registration for Le MUP festival is conditioned by the payment of registration fees of 15 CAD$. Film registration will start on October 15, The validation of the online application form via the platform provided for this purpose implies accepting the above rules and undertakes to pay the registration fee. Any payments must be made by credit cards (MasterCard, Visa ) or PayPal and are not refundable. The participant must guarantee the exactitude of all the entered information. Le MUP will watch the film upon its upload and reserve the right to refuse registration of films which do not fit the admission criteria laid down in the above Article 1, without any obligation to justify its decision. 2

4 Each category has a limited number of places. The films will be screened from their receipt and until late March. The films will be processed in the order of validation on the registration platform. Entries can be closed at any time and without notice, once the number set by the MUP is reached. The registration deadline will be on February 1st, Applicants will be notified of the committee's decision by mail no later than March 1st. Article 3 Publication and Broadcasting Authorizations All film registration gives Le MUP the authorization to publish in its communication media, including elements from the registered short films (clips, stills, quotes ), for promotional ends, as well as all the entered information. The information published by Le MUP will be based on the details given by the participants in their online registration and will be on the sole responsibility of the participants. Also, the Participant authorizes Le MUP to use said elements with promotional purpose within the framework of publication or of advertising under any shape and on any supports. The participant guarantees Le MUP that she/he has all rights concerning the copyrights of these elements and guarantee Le MUP against any third party action. Article 4 - Ranking - Prize The Jury's decision will be final. Prizes will be awarded to the directors present or sent, when necessary, in the way wished by the winner (PayPal, transfer, check). The ceremony will take place at the end of the last day of the Festival. For each entry on Film Freeway, 50% of the fee will go towards the cash prize and equally split for both category (50/50). For each category, here are the prizes: Very Shorts Films 3rd place : 50% 2nd place : 50% 1st place : Trophy Short Films 3rd place : 50% 2nd place : 50% 1st place : Trophy Article 5 Le MUP reserved rights The MUP operates mainly through donations (call for funding, direct donations...). It is therefore possible that the funds needed to design the event in its entirety may not be sufficient. In this case, the location of the place of the event will be the priority. 3

5 The MUP Festival reserves to provide, or not, the possibilities for financial aid to help select candidates to come and attend the Festival. In case the funds allow it, Le MUP will study each case to grant aid for transport. Article 6 Terms of Cancellation In case the participant renounces his/her film to be submitted to MUP Festival, he must make an explicit request by mail.
