2 What is AVS Mindfulness? AVS Mindfulness Program is an integrated offering that includes series of talks, discussions, mindful activities, intensive & quick meditations & Q&A sessions. These programs are strategically crafted in order to provide mindful attitude & outlook to the participants, on day to day basis. AVS Mindfulness works as an excellent model for prevention as well as eradication of stress & anxiety. The program helps an individual to develop an awareness about the present moment & helps to practice the art of doing things mindfully. Why AVS Mindfulness? The founder, Dr. Avdhoot Shivanand believes that in today s challenging living, the symptoms of stress & anxiety is actually a signal to the individual that he or she is heading towards creating a chronic or serious health condition. Symptoms of stress include worry, anxiety, restlessness, fatigue, lethargy, teeth grinding, chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, excessive sweating, panic attacks, irrational fear, muscle aches and pains, frequent colds and infections, loss of sexual desire or ability, low energy, regular upset stomach, nausea and giddiness, and depression. All these symptoms are warning signs of an approaching NCD or non-communicable diseases, which is on a very speedy rise as alerted by WHO. About 90% of all diseases are caused by stress. Chronic stress has caused proliferation of NCD resulting into significant healthcare expenditure not only to the government but also to the private citizen and private section.
