First International Yoga Day was celebrated as heralding a new era of peace involving active participation of the officials and the scientists from the Council. The event set new records in the Guinness Book of World Records for including a large number of participants (35,985) attending this yoga class and the nationalities attending this event which included people from 84 countries. The details of this captivating event are presented in the inside pages. In the Council s endeavour to introduce new vistas in research, a training programme on Drug Validation in AYUSH systems with Dr. Robbert Van Haselen was organized. The aim of drug validation is to collect data in day to day OPD setup, in a manner where outcomes are well documented that can be used for scientific evaluation. Dr. Haselen imparted training in HOM-CASE CARE guidelines being developed for case reporting in Homoeopathy. In another workshop on Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram, CCRH scientists were trained for screening of children according to RBSK module. This will further strengthen Council s programme on Homoeopathy for healthy child. The World Homoeopathic Summit organized in Mumbai in the month of April focussing on fundamental research and addressing its related issues, was a successful event organized by Global Homoeopathy Foundation in collaboration with the Council, Central Council of Homoeopathy and Homoeopathic Pharmacopeia Laboratory under Ministry of AYUSH. Scientific contents presented by molecular biologists, engineers, physicists, immunologists, pharmacologist, chemists, nanotechnologists, homoeopathic physician & conventional doctors from some of the premium universities/institutes were widely appreciated. The important meetings of this session include the meetings on modern techniques of preparation of homoeopathic drugs from nosodes and the meeting on Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeia Committee. A brief report on Swasthya Rakshan Program and other public health initiatives being undertaken by the Council provides an insight for our readers about these programs. Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH) organized a training programme on Drug Validation in AYUSH Systems with Dr. Robbert Van Haselen, Editor -in-chief of Complementary Medicine on 20 th 22 nd May The workshop was aimed at training the research personnel of Council and those who attended from Medical colleges and Delhi Government on the right method of reporting a case and assessing causal attribution of a case to a medicine through modified Naranjo criteria. Dr. Haselen is internationally acclaimed expert for training researchers on the subjects of case reporting and causal relationships. The workshop was held at AYUSH auditorium in the premises of CCRH headquarters on the first day, while the venue for the other two days was Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India at Ashoka Road, New Delhi. The inaugural ceremony of the workshop was graced by Prof. Rais-Ur-Rahman, Director General, Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM) Dr. Ishwara N. Acharya, Director In-charge, Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy (CCRYN) and Dr. Raj K. Manchanda, Director General, Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH). Dr. Manchanda welcomed the dignitaries and delegates to the workshop and explained the significance of appropriate case reporting and causal assessment. Among other dignitaries present were Dr. N. Mohanty and Dr. L.K. Nanda, Former Principals, Dr. A.C. Scientists and other participants with Dr. Robbert Van Haselen Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Bhubaneswar, Odisha and Dr. J.D. Daryani, Former Principal, M.P.K. Homoeopathic Medical College, Jaipur. Wrapping up the inaugural ceremony, Dr. Anil Khurana, Deputy Director (H), CCRH extended a vote of thanks. The ceremony was followed by Dr. Haselen s deliberations on how and why it is important to challenge the biased thinking for correct case reporting. On the second day, Padmashri Dr. V.K. Gupta, who was the Guest of Honour, applauded the Council for its channelized efforts in the challenging work of drug validation. Dr. Niranjan Mohanty summarized the first day s lectures for those who joined the training programme on the second day. Dr. Haselen explained the Naranjo Vol.No. 74 April - June

4 CCRH NEWSLETTER Criteria through interactive hands on nodules and through group discussion. Each case study was followed by an active discussion among the groups and final scoring of the cases through Naranjo criteria.the 3-day programme was very well appreciated by the participants who, in the wrap up session, thanked the organizers and the trainers, Dr. Haselen for orienting them to the vital methods for precise case reporting and causal assessment. IMPORTANT MEETINGS Meeting on Sub-Committee of the Biologicals (Preparation of Nosodes) The first meeting of the Sub- Committee of the Biologicals (Preparation of Nosodes) was held under the Chairmanship of Dr. Raj K. Manchanda, Director General at Central Research Institute (H), Noida to chart out a course of action on grey areas in the preparation of nosodes. The experts were Prof. (Dr.) C. Nayak, Chairman, Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeia Committee, Dr. Suresh Bhambhani, Former Deputy Director, Indian Council of Medical Research, Dr. Surender Singh, Additional Professor, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, Dr. Shailendra K. Saxena, Senior Scientist, Centre for Cellular & Molecular Biology, Hyderabad, Dr. Babban Jee, Scientist C, Indian Council of Medical Research- Department of Health Research, New Delhi. Officials from Council headquarters and CRI (H), Noida were also present in the meeting. Committee discussed on formulating the methodology for preparing, procurement and attenuation of different source materials of select nosodes following ICMR guidelines. Committee evaluated the safety aspect of nosodes prepared from biological agents according to WHO guidelines on safety issues. Precautionary measures for dose selection and immunogenicity Noida Experts of Sub-Committee of the Biologicals (Preparation of Nosodes) discussing on preparation of nosodes at CRI(H), Noida of nosodes was discussed with the experts in the meeting. The expert members were asked to render their help to draw up Standard Operating Procedure for procuring source material of a number of pathogenic organisms, viz., Malaria, MDR Tuberculosis, Japanese Encephalitis, Dengue, Candida albicans and Carcinosinum. 2 Vol.No. 74 April - June 2015

Nayak at Council headquarters on 18 th & 19 th May The members of the Committee who attended the meeting were Dr. N. Suresh Baburaj, Survey Officer, Dr. Sweta Chhagani, Senior Research Fellow (Botany) from CCRH, New Delhi and Dr. Beena Srivastava, Senior Scientific Officer (Chemistry), Dr. Rajat Rashmi, Research Officer (Plant Introduction) and Ms. Divya Mishra, SRF (Botany) from HPL, Ghaziabad. The committee discussed various issues on the Upgradation and Harmonization of Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeia of India. Experts suggested for New Delhi Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeia Committee meeting at Council headquarters under the chairmanship of Prof. (Dr.) C. Nayak modification of General Notices section of Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeia of India by HPL, Ghaziabad. The research work on Drug Standardisation under the Council was ratified in the meeting. Standard Operating Procedures on procuring raw material of exotic plants and preparing mother tinctures were discussed with the special invitees to the meeting. The suggestions of Dr. Handa were sought on borrowing monographs of other countries for inclusion in Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeia of India. Dr. Robbert Van Haselen talked on efficacy and safety issues of Homoeopathic drugs in clinical trials and introduction of new drugs especially the upcoming challenges of nosodes, their usage and preparation in the European countries. 6 CCRH NEWSLETTER Meeting on Clinical Research and Drug Proving Meeting on Clinical Research and Drug Proving was held on 23 rd May 2015 at Central Research Institute (CRI) (H), Noida. Dr. Robbert Van Haselen, Editor-in- Chief, Complementary Therapies in Medicine was present in meeting. Dr. Raj K. Manchanda, Director General, Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy chaired the meeting. The meeting was attended by Dr. J.D. Dariyani, Chairman, Special Committee on Homoeopathic Drug Proving, Dr. B.S. Arya, Assistant Director (H), Officer In-charge, CRI (H), Noida, Dr. Praveen Oberai, Research Officer, Scientist-4, Dr. Debadatta Nayak, Research Officer, Scientist-1, Council headquarters, Dr. Pritha Mehra, Research Officer, Scientist-1, Dr. Vinay Kumar Singh, Senior Research Fellow (H), CRI (H), Noida, Dr. Subhranil Saha, Senior Research Fellow (SRF) (H) and Dr. Munmum Koley, SRF(H), Dr. Anjali Chatterjee Noida Regional Research Institute (H), Kolkata. Dr. B. S. Arya, Officer Incharge and Nodal Officer for Drug Proving Research Programme, CRI (H), Noida welcomed the guests and apprised Dr. Haselen about the research activities that are being carried out at CRI (H), Noida. He also informed that CRI (H), Noida has been made the Nodal centre for Drug Proving Research Programme of the Council since June Standing Finance Committee Meeting 6 8th Standing Finance Committee meeting of the Council was held on 29 th May 2015 at Ministry of AYUSH under the chairmanship of Sh. Anil Ganeriwala, Joint Secretary. Members of the Committee; Dr. Nandini Sharma, Homoeopathic Physician, New Delhi, Sh. R.C. Sharma, Section Officer (IFD) and Dr. Raj K. Manchanda, Member Secretary and Director General, CCRH were present in the meeting. Dr. N. Radha Das, Advisor (Homoeopathy) was special invitee to the meeting. The officials from the Ministry of AYUSH and Council headquarters were also present in the meeting. At the onset, Member Secretary welcomed the members and other officials to the meeting and then the proceedings began. Minutes of the 67 th meeting was approved in the meeting. The proposal for procurement of land for Clinical Research Unit (H), Siliguri at a cost of Rs. 28,79,772/- in addition to the registration and other charges was recommended by the Committee. The members of the Committee recommended to reopen the Units at Aizawl, Dimapur and Shillong with adequate infrastructure and manpower. For physico-chemical studies of drugs under Drug Standardisation program at Central Research Institute (H), Noida, Committee New Delhi recommended to procure density and sound meter. The proposal for up-gradation and revision of Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeia of India work at Homoeopathic Drug Research Institute, Lucknow was discussed in the meeting and for appointment of two Senior Research Fellow (SRF) s under the project was recommended. The financial expenditure incurred during was discussed in the meeting the Annual Accounts for the year were approved. Committee also discussed the proposals for recruitment of manpower under various projects of the Council. Appointing the staff 4 Vol.No. 74 April - June 2015

7 CCRH NEWSLETTER for setting up AYUSH wellness clinic in the Hon ble President s Estate, extension of 70 SRFs engaged in various research projects under 21 research institute and Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeia Laboratory, Ghaziabad, one Junior Research Fellow/ SRF of Life Sciences & one SRF (H) for collaborative research and clinical verification program at Council headquarters and engagement of 41 SRFs and 19 Data Entry Operators for Drug Validation program were approved in the meeting. Committee recommended for implementation of the project Homoeopathy for Healthy Teething and approved the travelling allowance of Rs. 150/- per month to each ANM/ASHA workers for attending review meetings. CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION PROGRAMME Continuing Medical Education A programme (CME) was organized by the Council at Hotel Nakshatra, Beltola, Guwahati from 23 rd to 24 th March In this programme on Research Methodology, 41 Homoeopathic physicians from various homoeopathic medical colleges from Kolkata, Bhubaneswar and Guwahati participated. While inaugurating the programme, Dr. S.K. Das, Principal In-charge, SJN Homoeopathic Medical College, Guwahati emphasized on the importance of practicing Homoeopathy according to the basic principles. Dr. S.K. Sahoo, Former Principal, SJN Homoeopathic Medical College, Guwahati and Prof. (Dr.) Lingaraj Sahoo, Department of Bio- Technology, IIT, Guwahati was invited as guest of honour in the inaugural function. In the first scientific session Dr. Divya Taneja, Research Officer, Guwahati Inaugural ceremony of Continuing Medical Education programme at Guwahati. Dr. Samiran Panda, Scientist, ICMR, Kolkata elaborated on the Significance of Good Clinical Practice in Clinical Research. Dr. Rupali Boruah, Department of Community Medicine, Guwahati presented two papers on Study design in clinical research of epidemiological significance; Planning & its application. 8 CCRH NEWSLETTER Associate Professor, Department of Community Medicine, Guwahati presented paper on Validity of research study: Role of inferential statistics, hypothesis formulation and testing. Sensitization programme for Homoeopathic physicians about Homoeopathy for Healthy Child was organized after the scientific session. The participants from Dhirenpara PHC and SJN Homoeopathic Medical College were sensitized about this pilot programme and its future significance in National Public Health Programme. The participants felt enlightened on the topics covered and desired that such CME programmes should be held periodically on similar topics. COUNCIL S PARTICIPATION IN HEALTH MELAS/EXHIBITIONS Jignasa 2015 Council participated in JIGNASA , Swasthya Health Expo and National Seminar on Convergence on Keraleeya Ayurveda from 8 th to 12 th April at Kanakakkunnu Palace, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. A stall was set up through Central Research Institute (H), Kottayam at the venue to display the IEC materials, posters and translites developed by the Council depicting the activities and achievements of the Council and various disease conditions in which Homoeopathy has a useful role. It evoked good response from the public. Hon ble Union Minister Sh. J. P. Nadda, Minister of Health and Family Thiruvananthapuram Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi visited the Council s stall on 10 th April He was felicitated by offering a copy of Homoeopathy: Science of Gentle Healing a compendium on Homoeopathy. Scientists from Central Research Institute (H), Noida participated in two days Global Exhibition Services (GES) at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 23 rd -25 th April The first ever Global Exhibition Services (GES) was organized by Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, Services Export Promotion Council Global Exhibition Services (SEPC) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to promote greater exchange of trade between India and the rest of the world. GES was inaugurated by Hon ble Prime Minister of India, Sh. Narendra Modi in presence of Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Hon ble Minister of State for Commerce and Industry and other global leaders. While New Delhi inaugurating the exhibition Prime Minister emphasized on the steps to be initiated for transformation of India from a brain-drain, to a country that thinks of brain-gain. 9 CCRH NEWSLETTER State Arogya Fair 2015 Imphal State Arogya Fair 2015 was organized by Directorate of AYUSH, Government of Manipur jointly with Vision Foundation, Manipur at Manipur Film Development Corporation, Imphal from 24 th to 27 th April 2015 to create awareness about AYUSH systems in the North Eastern region. The theme of the Arogya mela was AYUSH Your Health Our Mission. While inaugurating the fair Sh. Phungzathang Tonsing, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Manipur urged the state officials to plan a 100 bedded hospital in Manipur. Dr. Lokendro Singh, Director, AYUSH, Government of Manipur presided over the inaugural function. Dr. M. Nara Singh, President, Homoeopathic Medical Association, Manipur, Dr. O. Ibomcha, Director, Health Services Inagural ceremony of State Arogya Fair at Imphal & State Mission Director, Government of Manipur, Dr. K. Rajo Singh, Director, Family Welfare Services, Government of Manipur also graced the occasion. Council organized a stall displaying translites, postures and research publications in Hindi and English. IEC material was distributed to the visitors to sensitize them about the usefulness of Homoeopathy. A health check-up camp was organized at the fair where Homoeopathic treatment was provided free of cost. Visitors were also apprised about the role of Homoeopathy in hypertension and autism, by way of lectures. 10 CCRH NEWSLETTER th Arogya Fair was 4jointly organized by Ministry of AYUSH and Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Mizoram at Mizoram State Legislative Assembly Annexe Building from 5 th to 8 th May The mela was inaugurated by chief guest, Pu. Lal Thanhawala, Arogya Fair 2015 Hon ble Chief Minister, Government of Mizoram. Pu. Lal Thanzara, Minister, Health & Family Welfare, Government of Mizoram and Pi. K. Ropari, Principal Director and Director (AYUSH), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Mizoram. The Council showcased it s activities Aizawl by exhibiting posters, handouts and translites in Mizo, English and Hindi language developed for the information of masses. Research publications of the Council displayed at the stall got tremendous response from the public. National Arogya on AYUSH healthcare National level Arogya at Thiruvananthapuram was organized by World Ayurveda Foundation in association with Ministry of AYUSH and Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Bio-Technology, Government of India from 20 th to 24 th May The comprehensive health fair on AYUSH systems was inaugurated by Hon ble Minister of AYUSH, Sh. Shripad Naik at Poojappura auditorium, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Sh. V.S. Shivakumar, Hon ble Minister of Health, Government of Kerala presided over the function. Sh. Nilanjan Sanyal, Secretary, AYUSH, Government of India, Dr. M. Beena, Secretary, AYUSH, Government of Kerala, Smt. K. Chandrika, Hon ble Mayor, Corporation of Thiruvananthapuram and Prof. M. Radhakrishna Pillai, Director, Rajiv Gandhi Thiruvananthapuram Sh. Nilanjan Sanyal, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India visiting the stall of CCRH in the AROGYA 2015 at Thiruvananthapuram Centre for Bio-Technology, Thiruvananthapuram were dignitaries present during the inaugural function. The Council showcased research publications available for sale to the public at the fair and distributed the IEC material on Homoeopathy for general awareness. The officials from the Central Research Institute (H), Kottayam were deputed at the stall put up by the Ministry of AYUSH at the venue. Sh. Shripad Naik, Sh. V.S. Shivakumar, Sh. 11 CCRH NEWSLETTER checkups and health lectures were organized at the venue. Talks on Drug Proving Program and Alcohol Dependence Syndrome were arranged during the health mela. Total 190 patients got treatment from the Homoeopathic clinic put up at the Arogya Fair. HOMOEOPATHY FOR HEALTHY CHILD Training on Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram training programme on A Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) was held at CCRH headquarters from 24 th 28 th June On 24 th June 2015, the training programme was inaugurated by Dr. Ajay Khera, Deputy Commissioner, Child Health & Immunization, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Dr. Arun Singh, National Advisor, RBSK was the Guest of Honour on the occasion. The guests were welcomed by Dr. Raj K. Manchanda, Director General, CCRH. He detailed the training programmes held for ANMs/ASHAs and Anganwadi workers in the identified 10 blocks. Dr. Arun Singh apprised the participants on the concepts governing the development and implementation of the RBSK Programme. Dr. Ajay Khera appreciated the work undertaken by the Council and was hopeful that the participants would acquire the requisite skills for undertaking the programme further. The Training manual for ANM, ASHA and AWW on Health Promotion during Teething with Homoeopathy and the Medicine kit for Healthy Teething which have been pilot tested in the field were released on the occasion. The training sessions for five days were taken by three national trainers of RBSK i.e. Dr. C Ravichandran, Professor, Madras Medical College, Chennai, Dr. Sudhir Nair, Medical Officer, Government Hospital, Daman and Dr. Kalpana Toran, Clinical Psychologist, Indian Institute of Health & Family Welfare, Hyderabad. The training was attended by 22 participants. The training involved skill building on identification and screening of children for developmental delays, defects, deficiencies and diseases as outlined in the RBSK programme. The participants were given hands on training on anthropometry and examination of infants and children. The screening tools were discussed in detail. A field visit to an Anganwadi centre in Gijjor, Goutam Budh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh was undertaken where about 50 children were screened by the participants. In the valedictory session, on 28 th June 2015, the participants shared their training experience and how the training will be utilized New Delhi in field. The trainers were positive that the training would enhance the clinical skills of the participants. 12 CCRH NEWSLETTER Community Health Partnership Through Swasthya Rakshan Programme under CCRH To accomplish the vision of a Clean India Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched by Hon ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi on 2 nd October As a step ahead linking with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Government of India planned to initiate Swasthya Rakshan Programme (SRP) through its national and research institutes to protect and promote health by adopting at least five villages/ urban cities for identifying, preventing and treating the diseases related to poor hygiene and sanitation. The main objectives of the programme are to initiate Swasthya Rakshan Mobile OPDs for providing homoeopathic treatment and organizing camps for screening and early diagnosis of diseases in the rural areas. This includes creating awareness through New Delhi health education, developing and distributing IEC material in local languages for better outreach and compliance. Council initiated a comprehensive health care programme. Programme implies assurance of extensive health services for medical conditions through Homoeopathy. Institutes/Units under the Council approached the Non-Governmental Organization and Gram Panchayat representatives for adopting villages under the Swasthya Rakshan Programme. Public lectures on various topics to create awareness about prevention and control of various communicable and non-communicable diseases, environmental cleanliness, etc. were also organized through the programme. Free Medicare facilities were provided to the villagers through the Institute/ Unit. The programme was undertaken by the Council through 11 institutes; Central Research Institute, (H), NOIDA & Kottayam, Dr. Anjali Chatterjee Regional Research Institute, (H), Kolkata, Regional Research Institute, (H), Puri, Jaipur, Gudivada, Guwahati, Mumbai, Imphal &, Shimla, Homoeopathic Drug Research Institute, Lucknow. 49 Villages/06 urban colonies nearer to the 11 institutes were identified for undertaking the programme. Colour banners, hoardings, posters, handouts developed in Hindi, English and 06 regional languages (Assamese, Oriya, Bengali, Malayalam, Telgu and Marathi). Use of Logo of the pictorial depiction of Gandhiji s spectacles with Swachh Bharat written on the glasses is used on the OPD slips. Community awareness programme on sanitation and nutrition were organized under the programme for educating the villagers on strategies for prevention of disease and improving health parameters. Handouts depicting the objectives of Swasthya Rakshan Programme in local language were distributed in the adopted villages for wider publicity on the facilities provided to the public by the programme. Handouts focusing on importance of hygiene in daily practice, promoting healthy practices like hand washing, disposal of waste, awareness about Homoeopathy were distributed during mobile OPD and camps for creating awareness. Health camps were initiated in 55 identified villages from 1 st April (i) Parikshan camps Total number of camps organized: 245 camps in 55 villages. Screening of the population of different age groups was done people have been screened for various disease conditions. Laboratory tests for screening anemia, diabetes were done. (ii) Mobile OPD Free homoeopathic treatment is being provided through the Mobile OPD s in 55 villages/colonies. It was recommended to encourage more scientific research and better documentation in Homoeopathy and to review the existing approaches in practice. The chief guest of the inaugural function was Sh. Anil Ganeriwala, Joint Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. Dr. Arun Jamkar, Vice Chancellor, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences was the Guest of Honour. 17 CCRH NEWSLETTER Council Participated in First International Yoga Day While addressing 69 th General Assembly of United Nations, Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi urged the world to practice of Yoga and commemorate Yoga Day. Recognizing its universal appeal, on 11 th December 2014 the United Nations proclaimed June 21 st as International Yoga Day by resolution. Prime Minster hailed the first International Yoga Day as heralding a new era of peace, while joining the celebrations on the Indian traditional practice at New Delhi. More than 35,000 people, including bureaucrats, students and senior citizen joined the outdoor yoga session. Scientists and officials from the Council participated this first International Yoga Day on 21 st June 2015 organized by Ministry of AYUSH. The event set two new Guinness Book of World Records ; one for the largest yoga performance of 35,985 participants in a venue and for the most number of nationalities to attend including people from New Delhi Hon ble Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi releasing the coins of Rs. 100/- and Rs. 10/- and a stamp to mark the first International Day of Yoga. 84 countries. 18 CCRH NEWSLETTER A TRIBUTE TO DR. R.K. KAPOOR H omoeopathic fraternity expresses intense grief at the sudden demise of Dr. R.K. Kapoor, a renowned and legendary homoeopathic physician of the country on 27 th June An eminent physician, Late Dr. R.K. Kapoor served Homoeopathy for nearly 50 years and has a string of achievements to his credit in this field. Born on 10 th March 1931 at Allahabad, he was a brilliant student of K.P. Intermediate College and graduated with distinction in Homoeopathy from Calcutta Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, West Bengal. He gained laurels abroad too, did his post graduate diploma training at The Royal London Homoeopathic Hospital, London, UK and could complete three semester diploma course in the time frame of one semester on Government scholarship which was rare. His contribution in homoeopathic education, research and drug development is significant. In the Council, he was the Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Committee ( ) and the working group on literary research for many years and member- Chairman, Mother & Child Welfare Dr. R.K. Kapoor to & A Hand Book of Home Remedies Committee of CCRH ( ). His contribution in the upgradation work on Kent s Repertory was remarkable. He was a member of Central Council of Homoeopathy and its executive committee ( ); the President of the Homoeopathic Medical Association of India ( ); Indian Homoeopathic Organization ( ); Homoeopathic Pharmacopeia committee nominated by President of India ( ) and was an expert in Union and State Public Service Commissions. He served the Central Government continuously for over 30 years in different capacity. He was a good orator and took out time for teaching in various homoeopathic medical colleges. Recipient of many awards of excellence, Dr. Kapoor made his debut as an author in his maiden book Single Remedy Cure a Homoeopathic wonder mentions You caused and now you cure one fourth world-wide chronic diseases by just one Single Remedy was not only greeted by the profession but was well received by dignitaries wherein he introduced some of the mysteries of Homoeopathy and introduces the reader into the realm of a system of medicine that has cured millions of sufferers from the incurable diseases. The Council pays homage to this true healer treating his countless patients spread all over the world with the correct similimum. A physician with simple habits and a religious bent of mind, Dr. Kapoor was inspired by the rotary motto of Service above self that is reflected in his dedicated approach to life.his contribution to the field will be remembered and appreciated in the hearts of every homoeopath and his patients.
