3 WELCOME LETTER Regional Psoriasis Summit 2017 Dear Doctors, LEO Pharma, in collaboration with the Dermatological Society of Singapore, is honoured to invite you to the Regional Psoriasis Summit which will take place in Singapore from October 14th-15th, The Psoriasis Summit aims to provide a platform for leading dermatologists from the region, to share their experience and knowledge on key topics in the management of psoriasis with their international peers and experts from other regions of the world. This year s theme Psoriasis New Insights and Optimisation of Disease Management takes a deeper look at the challenges which psoriasis patients face, future trends, and the ways to improve psoriasis management which will be discussed on the first day of the meeting. On the second day we will explore doctors communication with patients during our interactive session. As we gear towards a more patient-centred approach to disease management, we are convinced that you will find this meeting interesting and valuable. The Regional Psoriasis Summit is an educational initiative to update dermatologists from around the region on the management of Psoriasis. The theme for this year s Summit, Psoriasis New Insights and Optimization of Disease Management, is an exciting one, as it covers the latest updates on psoriasis management with a patient- centric approach in optimising disease management. The faculty is comprised of prominent international, regional and local speakers, who will give an update on the burden of disease, latest trends in psoriasis management and share on the management of challenging cases. 6 INTERNATIONAL SPEAKERS Professor Dr med. John Koo John Koo, is professor of dermatology at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine. Currently, Professor Koo is coeditor of the Journal of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis. He has served on editorial boards of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Dermatology Psychometrics, and the Journal of Symptom Validity. He has authored and coauthored more than 300 books, in addition to articles published in journals such as the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. Professor Dr med. Ulrich Mrowietz Ulrich Mrowietz is head and founder of the Psoriasis-Center Kiel, Germany. He is professor at the University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein, Campus Kiel. He serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Archives of Dermatological Research. He is a former member of the Executive Board of the German Dermatological Association ( ), as well as a current member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the German Psoriasis Association. He is also a member of numerous national and international Dermatological Societies, a co-author of the German and European Guidelines for the treatment of psoriasis, and he leads the European Consensus Programme on Treatment Goals in psoriasis. Dr Anthony Bewley Anthony Bewley is a consultant dermatologist at Barts Health NHS trust (The Royal London Hospital and Whipps Cross University Hospitals) in London, UK. He has a broad experience in diagnosing and treating all dermatological diseases, but is especially interested in psycho-cutaneous medicine. Dr Bewley is currently involved in a variety of ongoing UK-based research studies, as either the principal or chief investigator. Dr Catherine Hood Doctor, broadcaster, presentation coach and facilitator. Catherine Hood is perfectly at home in both the healthcare and pharmaceutical world. Dr Hood qualified in medicine from the University of Oxford, UK. For many years she was a clinical tutor in communication at the University of Oxford, teaching and guiding the doctors of tomorrow on how to talk to their patients. She continues to deliver lectures in the UK and abroad, has fronted several primetime TV programmes and writes a weekly column for a well-known national newspaper. Page 6
