During the fabrication and installation of the product, dust and powder generated may cause irritation to skin, eyes, nose, and airways. It is highly recommended that adequate ventilation be provided during fabrication and installation. In addition, the usage of protective gloves and masks and wet cutting tools is suggested. Seek medical attention if irritation persists after flushing. Most important symptoms and effects: Irritation, redness, pain If irritation occurs, thoroughly wash contacted areas with soap and water. If breathing difficulty occurs, seek medical attention immediately. Section 6 Accidental Release Measures Solid pieces can be gathered and disposed in accordance with local, state, and federal laws. For large amounts of dust, vacuum, sweep, or dampen with water to avoid airborne particles.

3 Section 7 Handling and Storage Handling Wet tools should be utilized to minimize dust generation. Adequate ventilation should always be used during cutting, drilling, polishing, and grinding. Protective gear should be worn including respiratory masks, gloves, skin protection, and safety eyewear. If dust is present or may be present, avoid contact with and inhalation of dust. Wash hands thoroughly after handling to remove all traces of dust. Storage Store inside in an area not exposed to sunlight. Slabs and pieces may be heavy secure accordingly. Aggravation of Pre-Existing Conditions: Inhalation of respirable crystalline silica dust may aggravate pre-existing respiratory conditions.

Likely Routes of Exposure The dust and powder generated as a result of fabricating quartz surfacing contains silica (SiO 2 ). Long term inhalation of crystalline silica may cause severe damage to health including pulmonary fibrosis and silicosis as well as the deterioration of other lung diseases such as bronchitis and emphysema. Silicosis may increase the risk of lung cancer. Section 12 Ecological Information Environmental Toxicity No detrimental environmental impact known. Toxicity expected to be low based on insolubility in water. Section 13 Disposal Considerations Waste should be disposed of according to local, state, and federal regulations.
