3 3 Tradition & Progress FLSmidth Pfister is a company with tradition whose business has been the development of weighing technologies from the beginning. Ludwig Pfister Wag-Fabrik (Ludwig Pfister Weighing Company) was founded in the south german city of Augsburg in1894 by blacksmith Ludwig Pfister. Their first products were scales which were employed in a number of different industrial and agricultural applications. Nowadays, FLSmidth Pfister GmbH is specialized in dosing technology and consists of six international subsidiaries and joint ventures in the U.S.A., Brazil, France, India, Malaysia, China as well as worldwide representatives. FLSmidth Pfister is still headquartered in Augsburg/Germany. There, research, development, engineering, assembly, sales, service and management are located.
