46 Conclusions 1 There is a clear association between cholesterol levels and the risk of CHD death Cholesterol lowering reduces the risk of cardiovascular events and mortality The absolute benefit depends on the risk Cholesterol reduction does not increase the risk of cancer, hemorrhagic stroke or cognitive dysfunction
