3 Scientific qualifications My main work lies in the field of mathematical analysis: approximation theory, orthogonal polynomials and special functions. I use methods from complex analysis and potential theory in these areas. I have also participated in an applied project on mathematical modelling of chemical reactions in biofumigants. My publications include 34 published papers and my PhD thesis. The complete list of publications can be found on my homepage. I have acted as a guest editor for Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, volume 178 (2005). I have supervised a masters student and a number of bachelor students. Extra-mural scientific activities I have organized the The International Symposium on Orthogonal Polynomials and Special Functions a Complex Analytic perspective, in Copenhagen, June 2012 as a member of the scientific and local committee. The symposium is supported by the Royal Academy of Sciences and Letters and FNU. I have organized the Seventh International Symposium on Orthogonal Polynomials, Special Functions and Applications, held in Copenhagen, August 2003 as a member of the scientific and local committee. I was the main organizer of the two workshops Workshop on Orthogonal Polynomials, Hankel and Jacobi Matrices held at the Faculty of Life Sciences in August 2009 and Workshop on Integral Transforms, Positivity and Applications held the same place in September The workshps were funded by FNU and NordForsk. I have furthermore been involved in the organization of the one day workshops Holomorphic Day in 2008 and 2009, and also in the meeting The Escaping Set in October I have been external examiner of a PhD thesis. Invited lectures and conferences I was invited to stay at the research center Mittag-Leffler Institute in connection with the program Potential Theory and Partial Differential Equations (November 1999 and January 2000). 3

As assistant professor in the Department of mathematics, I obtained Adjunktpædagogikum. Academic leadership and administrative appointments In the period November 2006 June 2011 I have headed the research group Mathematics and Computer Science in the department of Basic Sciences and Environment (IGM), Faculty of Life Sciences. In the fall of 2010 this group and the Statistics group was united 5

6 and I have been co-leader of the new group Biostatistics and mathematics, ending on May 31. I have also been a member of the leader group of IGM. In November 2011 I was acting chair of IGM and until Jne 2012 I have been cooperating with Susanne Sørensen in the process of ending IGM. I have completed a leadership course intended for prospective heads of research groups. I have chaired an assessment committee for an assistant professorship and a committee appointing an associate professor. I was chair of the working environment committee at IGM. 6
