1 MURPHY, Mary Anne (Past President and active member of the Durham Region Association of Realtors, former Principal and teacher for the Durham Catholic District School Board.) Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa with family by her side on Friday November 2 nd, 2018 at the age of 79. Beloved wife of Don Johnston. Loving mom of John (Kelly) and Tom. Adoring grandma of Cassidy and Egan. Predeceased by her parents Bill and Irene Moran and sister Sarah Cotton. Caring aunt of Roger (Elizabeth) and Alton (Holly). Life long and dear friend of Pat. Mary Anne will be missed by extended family, friends and cohorts. Mary Anne loved music and was a very accomplished pianist and played for many bands and orchestras. She took joy in bringing music to the community. She was a hard working, successful and a caring person. Relatives and friends are invited to call at McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa ( ) on Friday November 9 th, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday November 10 th, 2018 at St. Gregory the Great Parish (194 Simcoe St. N., Oshawa) at 1:00 pm. Interment to take place at St. Alphonsus Cemetery (400 Old Wooler Rd., Codrington, ON) on Monday November 12th, 2018 at 12:00 pm. We reconnected as adults through community and church events. She was always so interested in her former students' lives and was so proud to introduce us to others as such. 2 Cheryl Dussault It is with a heavy heart that I heard the sad news that Mary Anne Murphy is no longer with us. She was one of the hardest working people, and it was a pleasure to have met and worked with her for the few years that I did while part time with Royal LePage Frank (Whitby Office). She was always the first there and the last to leave. Her dedication and spirit will be truly missed. 3 will all miss her deeply. Nov 6, 2018 Ruth & Thom Park We have known Mary Anne for many years as a neighbour, in the "Glens". She was always friendly and a very caring person. When it became time for us to sell our home, she looked after us in an extremely positive and professional way. She listened well and followed through on any promises she made. Our property was sold in a single day. She served the real estate industry with total commitment and was an honourable and trustworthy individual. Requiescat in Pace friend. Lisa W I was very sad to hear through Facebook of the passing of Mary Anne. She was a wonderful, caring, loving, enigmatic, warm, and generous person. I met her in the 90 s and shared fun times and milestones with her. She opened her home to me, my friends, and my family numerous times over the years (as I passed through on road trips to new jobs across the US). We stayed up into the wee hours laughing, singing, and talking. Mary Ann even met me in Chicago once and treated me to a girls weekend. It was so fun and memorable. It meant so much to me that she also came to my wedding in NH in I wish we had stayed in better touch the last few years. My deepest condolences to your family and friends. I will miss you Mary Anne! 4 So saddened by this news. Our family has known Mary Anne since the early 1980 s when she helped my parents settle into our house during one of many relocations my father had with GM. Mary Anne was a dear friend over the years especially during the recent passing of both my parents. I will miss her witty sense of humour at our Durham Investment Club meetings. Deepest sympathies to Don and family...you were the light in her life and she will be greatly missed. Nov 8, 2018 Barb and Don Graham Mary Ann looked after our house purchases and sales. I worked at Harvey Mintz Associates when she was their top producing agent. She was a real classy lady and I learned much from her. Margaret Egerer Don, we learned about MaryAnne's passing from our friend Joanie and are still shocked and very sad. We had planned to contact both of you shortly for a Christmas party in December. All our friends remember MaryAnne fondly, as the Christmas party piano player and dear friend of our mother. We greatly regret that we won't be at St. Gregorys on Saturday, as we are all out of the country this week. Will be in touch.

May you all find peace and take advantage of all the good qualities she left behind. We will not be present Saturday for obvious reasons. On a positive note, we all be in the same happy space reminiscing every November for years to come. You are good friends.
