2 Purpose and Audience AAPM s non-cme Cadaver Workshop is offered to interventional pain physicians to improve the delivery of interventional pain techniques. It is designed to increase knowledge and refine skill levels in basic and advanced interventional techniques to promote quality patient care. AAPM s 1-day Cadaver Workshop for interventional pain physicians will be presented on February 23, 2012, as a preconference session prior to AAPM s 28th Annual Meeting. A total of 35 sessions for up to 8 participants per session will be offered. These sessions will offer highly interactive learning opportunities for participants who wish to refine their skills. The frequency and selection of actual course sessions will be determined by the interest of registrants. Learning Objectives Upon completion of the Cadaver Workshop, participants will be able to review relevant anatomy discuss the indications and potential complications related to various interventional procedures apply techniques for performing procedures. Educational Method Each cadaver station will run for 2 hours (the Spinal Cord Stimulation track will run for 4 hours) and will include a brief didactic component followed by technique demonstrations, hands-on opportunities, and Q & A. Outcomes By reviewing knowledge of anatomy, indications, and potential complications and by further developing emerging techniques used in interventional pain medicine procedures, it is hoped that physicians will improve the quality of patient care delivered, thereby reducing patient risk and complications.

3 Sessions AAPM s Cadaver Workshop is an exciting step forward for AAPM s educational offerings. The workshop will be divided into two 2-hour morning sessions and two 2-hour afternoon sessions that are geared to either basic or advanced procedures. You may choose to participate in either a full day (best value) or half day of sessions and can select the interventional pain techniques that are most important to your pain practice. Basic Procedures Track Facet Joint Radiofrequency Ablation Techniques: Cervical, Thoracic, and Lumbar Epidural Steroid Injections: Intralaminar and Transforaminal Cervical, Thoracic, and Lumbar Sacral Nerve Root Injections and Caudal Lysis of Adhesions: Techniques in Utilization of Epidural Catheters Facial Pain: Trigeminal Nerve, Sphenopalantine Ganglion, Gassarian Ganglion, and Stellate Ganglion Blocks Abdominal Pain: Celiac Plexus and Splanchnic Nerve Blocks Pelvic Pain: Hypogastric Plexus, Sacral Nerve Root, and Ganglion of Impar Blocks Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS): Stellate Ganglion and Lumbar Sympathetic Plexus Blocks Discography: Needle Placement and Nucleogram Interpretation Advanced Procedures Track Spinal Cord Stimulation Track: Breakthrough Developments in Spinal Cord Stimulation Therapies (4 hours) Sacroiliac Joint Denervation mild: Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression Joint Injections (Sacroiliac, Hip, Knee, Shoulder)* Intercostal and Stellate Ganglion Blocks* Vertebroplasty/Kyphoplasty Sacroplasty Percutaneous Facet Joint Fusion Intradiscal Procedures: Laser-Assisted Percutaneous Disc Decompression *Stations will include simulation and evaluation with both fluoroscopy and ultrasound-guided imagery.
