3 EU-BTNET BlueTongue NETwork application (EU-BTNET system) is a web-based based system to collect, store, and analyze bluetongue data in the Member States. EU-BTNET is fundamental for notifying BT data, verifying disease management and allowing safe movements of animals of susceptible species.

16 Data notification to EU-BTNET Regulation (EC) No 1266/2007 Art. 5 Member States shall transmit to EU-BTNET system (established by Decision 2007/367/EC), information on bluetongue gathered in the course of the implementation of the bluetongue monitoring and/or surveillance programmes
17 Regulation (EC) No 1266/2007 Art. 5 Monthly reporting a. monthly report, transmitted not later than one month after the end of the reporting month, which shall contain at least: i. the data on the sentinel animals from the bluetongue monitoring programmes in place in the restricted zones; ii. the entomological data from the bluetongue monitoring programmes in place in the restricted zones
18 Regulation (EC) No 1266/2007 Art. 5 Six monthly reporting b. intermediate report covering the first six months of the year, and transmitted each year by 31 July at the latest, which shall contain at least: i. the data from the bluetongue surveillance programmes in place outside the restricted zones; ii. the vaccination data from the restricted zones

27 Personalisation of shapefiles for surveillance data insert Every year, by the 30th of November, each MS must communicate to the EU-BTNET System the geographic reference units in use In case changes are needed, new shapefiles must be sent before the 31st of December. The new administrative subdivisions to be used must be provided in shapefile (.shp shp) ) format with Geographic Coordinate System: WGS_1984 and datum: WGS_1984. The Administrative subdivisions within each country can be modified, BUT the Countries boundaries are fixed and cannot be modified.
