2 Thalassaemia awareness program The Environment & Community Connect Club under SLC organized a Thalassaemia awareness program in collaboration with Barrackpore Rastraguru Surendranath College and Indian Red Cross Society, Barrackpore on 23 rd March Thalassaemia is a deadly disease and to know in details about this threatening disease we organized a small discussion about Thalassemia in the seminar hall at 11a.m. followed by Thalassaemia Detection Program. In the detection program we arranged a pathological set up for blood collection where students spontaneously participated and gave their blood for Thalassemia detection. Along with that we organized a seminar also where a faculty of Rashtraguru college delivered lecture on Thalassemia and discussed in details about the origin of Thalassemia and how it affects human life. Report on Swine Flu awareness Campaign The Environment and Community Club under Student Life Centre of Narula Institute of Technology took an initiative to create a SWINE FLU awareness

program among the school children of Shree Saraswati Vidyalaya, High School, situated at Nilgunj Road, Agarpara on 9 th march 2015.

They were mainly advised to follow these precautions: a) To wash hands frequently with lukewarm water with soap before and after meal. b) To drink plenty of fluids and eat a balanced diet.

3 program among the school children of Shree Saraswati Vidyalaya, High School, situated at Nilgunj Road, Agarpara on 9 th march Our main objective was to spread awareness among the small children of standard V, VI, VII, VIII and IX to make them understand the need of precaution against H1N1 virus. They were mainly advised to follow these precautions: a) To wash hands frequently with lukewarm water with soap before and after meal. b) To drink plenty of fluids and eat a balanced diet. c) To cover nose and mouth with tissue before cough and sneeze. d) To carry camphor and cardamom in equal quantities in their handkerchief and to sniff the mixture after every half an hour. e) To stay away from school if they have high fever, cough and sneeze. f) To maintain the health and hygiene of the school we gave them a 5litre phenyl to the school authority. There were altogether nine students across all BTECH Streams, three faculty members from Narula Institute of Technology participating in the program. The program was highly successful as the students also interacted with us to clear their misconceptions about the deadly disease. They were highly enthusiastic and eagerly participated in our noble mission.

Celebration of 66 th Republic Day: Student life centre of Narula Institute of Technology celebrated 66 th Republic Day at the college premises.

Children and people from local community attended the function along with the students.

4 Celebration of 66 th Republic Day: Student life centre of Narula Institute of Technology celebrated 66 th Republic Day at the college premises. Sardar Jodh Singh, Chairman of JIS group and Principal, Dr. M. R. Kanjilal were present in the occasion. Children and people from local community attended the function along with the students. Saraswati Puja: Student life Centre organized the first of several festivals in Bengali calendar year, Saraswati Puja at the college premises. Students distributed prasad after the puja. SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN Narula Institute of Technology took the initiative of 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' on 5th November Narulites enthusiastically participated in the event and cleaned the areas adjacent to the college. Faculty and staff members along with the students participated in the event. The members from local community was also present during the event and appreciated the effort taken up by Narula Institute of Technology.

The programme was initiated with collection of used (but in good condition) clothes from the college students.

5 Old Clothes Donation: Environmental education and Community Connect Club, Student life centre of Narula Institute of Technology has organized an "Used cloths distribution programme" among the local unprivileged community on 5th September, 2014 at 4pm in the college campus. The programme was initiated with collection of used (but in good condition) clothes from the college students. The students deposited used clothes of their family with great enthusiasm.
