3 Regular Activities Year BHARATI VIDYAPEETH S COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING FOR WOMEN, PUNE-43 ANNUAL REPORT APRIL2013-MARCH volunteers volunteered as Warkari Mitra for 3 days from 21st July to 23rd July during the Palki stay at Pune. Security management, water and sanitation management and medical facilities for the Mauli s were undertaken by the volunteers. 30 Volunteers along with staff members and P.O. visited Maher, an orphanage at Wagholi on 6 th and 13th July. Interactive sessions, cultural and Shramdan was conducted by the volunteers. 10 volunteers attended the State-Level Youth Conference at Shiv Chhatrapati Krida Sankul Mahaangule, Balewadi on 19th July, volunteers along with P.O. participated in the Mutha River Cleaning Drive on 22th July, 2014 from Mhatre Bridge to Bhide Bridge. Cleaning of the river as well as riverside was undertaken by the volunteers. All NSS volunteers actively participated in making diaries and collected funds for NSS by selling these diaries to the staff members of BVCOEW. 50 NSS Volunteers along with staff members and P.O. on account of Raksha Bandhan on 9th August, 2014 visited NDRF, Sudumbre, Chakan. The NSS volunteers celebrated this festival by tying rakhis to the respective officers and Jawans. 100 volunteers participated in International Youth Week on HIV awareness which was celebrated from 4th August to 12th August, 2014 in BVCOEW, organised by MHACS and SPPU. Various activities were conducted during this period like elocution competition, poster competition and slogan competition. A guest lecture on importance of health was delivered by Dr. Minaz Kulkarni. Oath Taking Ceremony was conducted as part of the inauguration of the event. 150 volunteers along with P.O. and staff members participated in Independence Day which was celebrated on 15th August, 2014 at BVCOEW. Poster exhibition was held on account of Independence Day. P.O. and 2 volunteers attended meeting on Police Mitra Training Program held at Commissioner Office at 20th August, volunteers actively participated in Police-Mitra preparation at the Commissioner office from 22nd August, 2014 to 24th August, Making of I-cards, list and distribution of volunteers in respective police stations were undertaken by the volunteers. 100 volunteers participated in the Police Duty during Ganpati Festival from 29th August, 2014 to 8th September, volunteers along with Principal, P.O., staff members and alumni attended NSS Foundation Day Foundation program which was celebrated in BVCOEW on 24th September, Mr. Santosh Garje, who runs an orphanage in Gevrai, Beed was
4 invited as the guest of this event. NSS Alumni Volunteers Mamata Yengul, Janaki Yadav and Nupur Jagtap also attended this event. 150 volunteers along with the Principal, P.O. and staff members participated in the Oath Taking Ceremony on account of Swatch Bharat Abhiyan on 2nd October, Cleaning of the college was undertaken by the volunteers. 20 volunteers participated in Swatch Bharat Abhiyan Cleaning Drive at Dhankawadi, Katraj. Cleaning of the roads, gutter and dustbins were undertaken by the volunteers. 150 volunteers along with the Principal, P.O., and staff members participated in the National Unity Day Oath Taking Ceremony on 30th October, NSS volunteers along with P.O. and staff members visited the 3-day residential camp organised by the Munoth Vidyalaya at Gokulnagar, Katraj on 28th November, The NSS volunteers organised cultural events for the children along with various games. They also explained the importance of NSS to them and held a value-education seminar for them. 100 volunteers along with the Principal, P.O. and staff members participated in the Aids Awareness Week on 1st December, 2014 in BVCOEW organised by SPPU. Poster exhibition regarding awareness about AIDS was undertaken by the volunteers. 5 volunteers attended the 2-day workshop on Youth Seminar on sustainable solutions for access to safe water: promoting innovation and collaboration from 2nd December, 2014 to 3rd December, Visits to special camps of different colleges by Area Coordinator Prof. Savita Atul Itkarkar:- Sarhad College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Katraj. Sinhagad College of Pharmacy, Narhe TSSM s College of Engineering, Narhe Abhniav College of Arts and Science, Katraj Kritika Surya (BE E&TC) and Rasika Tambe(TE E&TC) participated in blood donation camp at MIT college on 10th January, volunteers attended the Road Safety Program at Sadhu Vaswani Chowk on 12th January, 2015 on account of road safety week organised by SPPU. Street Play on HARAWALI PAKHARE (Bal Sudhar Griha) was performed by NSS Volunteers at Sinhagad Karandak on 12th January, Volunteers also volunteered as a writer for blind students of various colleges for their exams. ILS Law college Bharati Vidyapeeth Law College MS-CIT exam 10 volunteers performed a drama on Harawali Pakhare at the Jishin Annual Social Gathering held at BVCOEW on 23rd January, volunteers participated in singing, dance and street play program organised by the IETE Student Forum on 2nd February, volunteers participated in district level Self Defence workshop at S.P. College on 9th February, 2015.
