2 AWARNESS ON AIDS (28th September, 2016) Rajendra Mane college of Engineering & Technology organized AIDS AWARENESS programme on Role of youth in Prevention and awareness of AIDS under NSS unit on 28th September 2016 at Seminar Hall. The rampant spread of the HIV/AIDS virus over the past 29 years has created the most significant global public health crisis in modern era. Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) caused by Human Immuno-deficiency Virus (HIV) is posing a serious challenge to the conceptual foundations and the practice of development
3 planning worldwide. Nearly half of the new HIV infections are occurring in young people1. HIV/AIDS is retarding economic growth by destroying human capital by mainly affecting the young adults in the age group of years who are in their most productive ages of life. Vidya Mane & Vaishali Pujari delivers a seminal on Aids Awareness. In this seminar she gave detail information about Aids & what are the precautions should be taken to avoid Aids. Prof. Kolekar S.S., Prof. Belekar R.D. & NSS Volunteers have taken great efforts to conduct program Smoothly. Women s Laws & Rights (28th September, 2016) Proneness to women atrocities is not a recent phenomenon in the society. Women have been traditionally considered as preys to male chauvinism and aggression from the time immemorial, but in the last two centuries as a result of extension of education among women and due to certain reform moments occurred, women have become more strengthened to protest against the attitude and act of violence of their male counterparts. This has again opened the possibility of new threats to those women inside and outside home.
4 At this backdrop the school going girl students are the worst sufferers and they have every chance of being affected. Sometimes, the girls have to travel a long way to reach a Secondary or Higher Secondary school either on foot or by bicycle, sometimes even alone. The parents habitually stoop to this apprehension and restrain the girl s children to attend schools regularly. Herein lays chances of drop outs among the girls. Keeping the above premises in mind, the Women s Laws & Rights e have to be take in every school & colleges. So in our college we have arranged one Women s Laws & Rights for girls on 28th September This programme is conducted by Advocate Mrs. Prabhavalkar U. M. from Devrukh in seminar hall. Miss. Bagayatkar K. M. & Prof. Belekar R. D. have taken great efforts to conduct the programme smoothly. 153rd BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF MAHATMA GANDHI (02nd October, 2016) 146 th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi & 114 th birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri was celebrated in Rajendra Mane College of Engineering & Technology, Ambav (Devrukh) on 02nd October The celebration started at 9.30 a.m. with Garland by Principal M.
