Write your examination number in the space provided and place the ANSWER SHEET in your folder. Answer ALL the questions in SECTIONS B and C. Use appropriate application programs and place your printouts in your folder. The time indicated at the beginning of each section is a guideline in order to finish the question paper in time. Time allocated for this question paper includes printing time. Save your work at regular intervals to prevent loss of keyed-in data during a power failure. In the event of a computer or printer defect, the invigilator will make the necessary arrangements for you to continue with the examination and the actual time lost will be allowed additionally. Spell check may be used. Number the answers according to the numbering system used in this question paper. 5 ( ) -5- NC1350(E)(F16)V SECTION B: WORD PROCESSING QUESTION 5 TIME: 18 MINUTES BACKGROUND: You have been assigned to do research on the new age vaccine to help prevent serious pneumococcal diseases like meningitis, pneumonia, blood and ear infection and to assist your community by sharing the findings with them Use the appropriate application program to type the paragraph as it appears below. Use the font Courier New 12. Align the paragraph to the left. Insert a header with QUESTION 5 (left) and your EXAMINATION NUMBER (right). Use left and right margins of 1 (2.54 cm/10º). Save the file as VACCINE on your disk, or according to your College Examination Regulations. Print the document and place the printout in your examination folder. What is PD? PD describes a group of illnesses caused by the bacterium Streptococcus pneumoniae, also known as pneumococcus. How serious is PD? It may cause permanent hearing loss, brain damage and death. It can also impact the quality of life for a child and their entire family. How do children catch PD? The PD bug is carried in the nose and throat of healthy adults and children. It can be passed from one child to another in droplets that are released into the air by sneezing and coughing. Who are at risk of PD? Anyone can get PD, but some groups have a higher risk. The benefits of vaccination against PD: Your doctor has prescribed vaccinating your child with Prevenar (R). What are common side effects of vaccination? Some commonly reported fever and redness or swelling at the site of the injection. [20]

Edit the document as indicated in the text and according to the instructions below. Change QUESTION 5 in the header to QUESTION 6. Change the left margin to 1.5 (3.8 cm/15º). Insert the main heading PREVENAR in capital letters, font size 20 pt and centre it. Bold, italics and underline the main heading. Leave 3 open line spaces after the main heading. Change the paragraph to full justification. Find and replace PD with Pneumococcal Disease (in bold) throughout the paragraph. Split the paragraph as indicated. Change the sub-headings into capital letters and underline them as indicated. Add the text as indicated under the sub-headings. Insert the bullets and change 'infants' to bold under the fourth heading. Insert Don't hestitate. Vaccinate! as a footer in bold, italics and right align it. Change the appearance of Streptococcus pneumoniae to italics. Save the file as VACCINE2 on your disk, or according to your College Examination Regulations. Use the font Arial size 10. Do not key in the row and column (borders). It was only inserted to indicate the correct cells that must be used. You will be penalised for using the incorrect cell addresses. Right align the column headings. Adjust the column widths to fit the contents as indicated. Display the figures in column C as currency with two decimals. Save the spreadsheet as VEGETABLES on your disk, or according to your College Examination Regulations. Print the spreadsheet on one A4 Portrait page without row and column headings (borders) and put the printout in your examination folder. Change the appearance of column headings to bold and centre. Sort the vegetables with corresponding details alphabetically in ascending order. Insert the columns for OVERHEAD EXEPENSES and SELLING PRICE as indicated on the spreadsheet. Insert the two open rows as shown. Insert the TOTAL rows as indicated on the spreadsheet. Provide formulae where the letters of the alphabet appear to do the following calculations: (Use absolute cell references where applicable instead of actual cell contents.) OVERHEAD EXPENSES = COST PRICE multiply by 10%. SELLING PRICE = COST PRICE plus OVERHEAD EXPENSES TOTAL = The sum of each of COST PRICE, OVERHEAD EXPENSES and SELLING PRICE.
