2 Professional Experience: Oct 2011 Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth Consultant in Restorative Dentistry This was an 8 programmed activities appointment in a busy District General Hospital Maxillofacial Unit. The post involved working as leader of the Restorative team as well as a member of multidisciplinary teams in Head and Neck Cancer, Hypodontia, Implantology, Restorative Dentistry/Orthodontics, and Restorative Dentistry/Oral Surgery Specialist Training teaching in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics I was seconded to Guys, Kings and St Thomas Hospitals as the lead member of the teaching faculty on the third year of the Specialist training programme in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics Wessex /South and West region Senior Registrar in Restorative Dentistry This training programme included elements in a large number of Wessex sites, Mayday Hospital, Croydon, Surrey, and The Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel Portsmouth Principal in general dental practice Mayday University Hospital, Croydon Locum Senior Registrar in Restorative Dentistry Southampton General Hospital Clinical Assistant in Restorative Dentistry Portsmouth area Part-time associate in general dental practice Guys Hospital, London Clinical Assistant in Conservative Dentistry Nottingham University Hospital Registrar in oral surgery Guys Hospital, and QA Hospital, Portsmouth House officer and senior house officer posts in oral surgery Ongoing Training and experience in Dental Implantology I have been part of a multidisciplinary implantology team which works collectively when complex cases require treatment under general anaesthesia, since As a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry and in my own specialist private practice, I carry out the overall planning for treatments involving dental implants. I am then responsible for the restorative work, and in many cases, I also surgically place the implants. If I do not, I frequently accompany the surgeon to verify that the implants are appropriately sited for restorative requirements. I have undertaken implant training in several different implant systems, (Nobel Biocare, Astra, Straumann, Frialit and Endopore), and advanced implant training courses in soft tissue management with Patrick Palacci in Marseilles, and in minor bone grafting procedures in Halmstad, Sweden. I have also been trained using the innovative NobelGuide CT driven CAD-CAM implant technique in 2

3 Gothenburg, Sweden and introduced this technique into the hospital team within which I worked and into my own specialist practice. Medico-Legal Experience: Extensive experience since 1998 in medico-legal cases and insurance claim reporting for independent lay and professional clients and all three main UK dental Indemnity providers Also expert witness experience in regulatory cases. Approximately 50/50 split between work for claimants and work for defendants with a small number of instructions as single joint expert. I have undertaken training in report writing and expert witness skills and hold the Cardiff University/Bond Solon Expert Witness Certificate.
