14 CROWN AND BRIDGE PROSTHETICS IPS e.max* CAD Strength and natural aesthetics IPS e.max CAD is a lithium disilicate ceramic for CAD/CAM technology. Aesthetic single-tooth restorations and 3-unit bridges, inlays, onlays or veneers are easy to produce from IPS e.max CAD with the aid of industrial production. Due to the improved machinability, IPS e.max CAD is processed in a soft intermediate stage in which the material displays its striking blue colour. This is followed by a rapid crystallisation process at approx. 850 C, in which the IPS e.max CAD achieves its final strength of 360 MPa and obtains the desired aesthetic properties such as tooth shade, translucency and brightness. Depending on requirements, objects are produced which can then be veneered or stained as fully anatomical restorations. IPS e.max CAD restorations are available in three degrees of translucency. There are 16 high translucency (HT), 16 low translucency (LT) and 5 medium opaque (MO) shades available to choose from. There are 9 shades to choose from for bridges (A1, A2, A3, A3.5, B1, B2, C1, C2, D2). The translucency is selected based on the respective patient s case and the desired working technique (layering, cut-back, staining technique). 15 CROWN AND BRIDGE PROSTHETICS BeCe Temp Highly cross-linked PMMA for temporary restorations BeCe Temp is a stained PMMA-based polymer for the production of temporary, preprosthetic crown and bridge restorations using the CAD/CAM technique. With their highly cross-linked structure, the special polymers offer high fracture resistance with a simultaneously smooth and thus plaque-resistant surface, which guarantees reliable soft tissue management, especially in implant restorations. BeCe Temp is suitable for both the anterior and the posterior regions and allows a wearing period of up to twelve months. The temporary restorations are available in 2 shade schemes (K1 and K2). In the SLM procedure the frames are built up layer by layer in a protective gas atmosphere. In addition, the laser process fuses the material together in such a way that it achieves almost 100 % homogeneity, which guarantees optimal material characteristics. Use of the alloy Wirobond C+, which has been tried and tested millions of times, results in an unprecedented level of reliability. The microstructured surface with reduced oxide formation of the Wirobond C+ alloy guarantees a high shear bond strength and thus optimal bonding properties for the veneering. Of course, Wirobond C+ can also be veneered with composites. The milling process is also used to produce double crowns and implant-based prosthetic restorations. Restorations made of Wirobond MI+ are characterised by a perfect fit with smooth surfaces and filigree occlusal surfaces. The restorations thus ensure metal frames in unsurpassed quality. Wirobond MI+ is corrosion-resistant, biocompatible and free from nickel and beryllium. In the BEGO CAD/CAM production centre, wax patterns are milled in the computer-assisted process based on your CAD models. They are then invested and industrially cast in the materials of your choice using the vacuum pressure casting method. You are finally supplied with the cast frame. In comparison with your traditional manufacturing process, the CAD/Cast process offers you a cost-efficient and calculable alternative for producing your cast frames. 19 CROWN AND BRIDGE PROSTHETICS BeCe Wax-Up Customised press-to-metal templates made of composite The press-to-metal technique is already widely employed. This technique combines safe and simple application with reproducible aesthetics. In the rapid prototyping process objects are produced from residue-free combustible plastic, which are used as the base for the ceramic press-to-metal technique. Modelling by hand is no longer necessary. On the basis of the digital model you create a data set for the anatomical restoration. The data set is then split into two data sets for the production of the frame and the wax-up. The frame is then produced from the selected material and the anatomical abutment produced simultaneously in the 3D printer as a BeCe wax-up. Both parts are put together in the dental laboratory and the ceramic pressed on to the frame following burning out of the BeCe wax-up. 20 PARTIAL DENTURES / MODELS More as of August 2015 SLM partial denture made of Wirobond C+ With SLM partial dentures BEGO allows you to produce frames using the CAD/CAM technology. In contrast to conventional production in the laboratory, partial denture frames are designed on the computer. The partial denture data set is subsequently sent to the BEGO CAD/CAM production centre. We produce the partial denture for you from Wirobond C+ using the SLM technique and then send it to your laboratory. You then fit and finish the frame. 47 SERVICE Your order options for CAD/CAM restorations from BEGO We offer you a range of options for ordering and producing your CAD/CAM restorations in our production centre in Bremen. All the options listed below are available to you if you have a scanner in your laboratory: 1 Transmission of wax-up data a) Data transmission from the BEGO SPEEDSCAN * / 3Shape* Scanner As a BEGO customer with a 3Shape scanner we offer you the possibility of transmitting your data from the 3Shape DentalDesigner or 3Shape AbutmentDesigner. This allows you to send your designed restorations from your system to our production centre conveniently with just one click of the mouse. b) Data transmission in STL format via FileGenerator or the order portal If you work with a scanner which delivers STL data, you can use the BEGO FileGenerator, which is available to download on our homepage, to transmit the data. Note: Please note that this order option (1b) is currently only available for crown and bridge prosthetics. 2 Transmission of model scan data It is now also possible to transmit model scan data to our Scan and Design Centre from the 3Shape DentalDesigner (as of Version 2012 Release or higher) in combination with an inbox client from 3Shape without any investment costs for the 3Shape AbutmentDesigner. Our expert team will design the restoration for you. Following consultation with you and your approval, BEGO then produces the restorations. 3 Shipment of models After logging in to our Scan and Design Centre's user-friendly portal, in which you complete the job form, you can send us your model or have our courier service pick it up from your laboratory. We scan your model and design the required restorations based on your specifications. Before commencing production, we give you another chance to check and approve the design.
