Unit Aim: This unit introduces learners to the roles and responsibilities of a dental nurse and the essential attributes and behaviours required to work in a professional manner. Opportunity has been provided to enable learners to reflect on their own professional practice and identify opportunities for improvement. You will open this unit at the beginning of your qualification. This unit will be completed throughout your qualification. In order to achieve this unit, a dental nurse must show they understand GDC standards for the dental team and all included principles. The outcomes of professional development must be evaluated to determine how practice has improved/changes as a result of the professional development undertaken. Evidence submitted will be considered during assessment. Outcome five must be observed in order to prove competence.
