6 What is the NDA? National Diabetes Core Audit (NDA): This annual audit of primary care and specialist diabetes services covers care processes, treatment targets, complications and mortality. National Diabetes Inpatient Audit (NaDIA): This is a snapshot audit of every hospital covering inpatient care of people with diabetes. National Diabetes Footcare Audit (NDFA): This audit collects data about specialist foot care services for people with diabetes. Continuous data collection, services can commence participation at any time National Pregnancy in Diabetes (NPID) Audit: This audit examines antenatal services for women with pre-gestational diabetes. Continuous data collection however submission deadline to be included in August 2016 annual report was 10 th February

11 Type 1 & Type 2 care Type 1 patients have lower attainment of 8 care processes and 3 treatment targets compared to Type 2 patients. 12
12 Type 2 management London Treatment Target (HbA1c, BP, Cholesterol) attainment increased from 40% to 41.1% Wide variation across CCGs in completion of 8 care processes 88.8% to 21.7% 13
13 Structured Education Type % are offered structured education with 6.7% uptake Type 1 45% are offered structured education with 7.7% uptake N.B. it is acknowledged that locally services can report c.30% uptake rates All numbers are rounded to the nearest 5, unless the number is 1 to 7, in which case it is rounded to 5. Rounded numbers are used to calculate percentages. 14
