6 1.Strong Prayer Life Combining Exercise & Prayer can launch you into MASSIVE levels of POWER in your prayer life. We have the tools available for any Liberty person to have massive prayer power that produces 1-3 hours of prayer each day. Perhaps your DESPERATION with the battle of food may be the MOTIVATION to become mighty in prayer. Ø When we pray deeply for long periods of time, we are so full of His peace and His strength that food and TV have much less attraction. Ø When we are empty spiritually, we get become restless and lust for pleasure. An empty SOUL really does feel like an empty STOMACH. Thus, we begin by asking the person to be willing to become quickly strong in the major areas of: Praying on the Armor & Quoting chapters
7 2. Exercise i. Would you be willing to work for One Year on increasing your Exercise /Prayer habits BEFORE you tackle your food habits? The Advantages would be: Next week / Excited / Forget you!!! a. You would fall in LOVE with Exercise/Prayer..instead of using exercise as a temporary fix for weight. b. You would focus on LONG TERM DECADES - long habits. rather than quick fixes years - 4 times per week pounds Binge habits c. If you would ALSO be willing to go ONE YEAR with OUT weighing yourself, you might have even more freedom from focus on weight.
8 2. Exercise ii Minimums and sense of Success a. There is a great difference between Minimums & Preferred times. b. The purpose of very LOW, very CONSISTENT minimums is that they Guarantee that you are a SUCCESS each week in your exercise. Proverbs 21:5 Proverbs 2:10-11, Proverbs 4:26, lead to Proverbs 8:12, Proverbs 28:20, leads to Poverty. Psalm 18:25 The plans of the Terrible Teaching à Reach Beyond what you can Achieve! as surely as c. Thus, I ask you to keep the same minimums of 5 minutes of exercise 4 times a week as your minimums for the ENTIRE YEAR. Hard Before Media! d. I also ask you to give EXCEPTIONS to those minimums on major transition weeks such as vacation or moving into a new home.
9 iii Preferred times (Very Different from a Minimum COMMITMENT) a. At the beginning the Preferred TIME would be 15 minutes. b. The Preferred PACE would be to walk. c. The Preferred AMOUNT each week would be 6 times a week. iv Adjusting Preferred times a. For a month, require yourself to quit at the end of your preferred time. Going longer is not an option. By forcing yourself to stop, you keep exercise as a reward. b. To ADD 5 minutes to your preferred time or to increase from walking to jogging, you must first have a WEEK of successfully meeting your PREFERRED time six times in a week. c. This moderate, slow increase of pace and time allows you to remain motivated and excited. It uses consistency to build your confidence. Heb. 10:35
10 vi Accountability By , report to your accountability team once a week for six months and then once a month, you also help increase consistency. vii Choosing the Exercise Biggest factor = What gives me the Best Prayer times? a. Easy to be Consistent! Ø Ø People are always trying to find creative ways to remain motivated. Once your MAIN Goal in exercise is to pray, the exercise becomes Very Secondary. Thus. b. The Treadmill, Elliptical and Exercise Bicycle work for everyone! Thus c. You can exercise your HOME. This allows your consistency to be Much, Much Greater. d. Finding the right Music helps greatly also.
11 3. Long Term Less TV - Optional Ø TV is Poison. The more you watch, the more you want to watch. TV makes us want to eat junk food. It makes us spiritually dry, sedentary and feeds our pleasure addiction. Less TV = More sleep joy in exercising & eat better (Carb Cravings_ Ø Use as a Boundary for Exercise Distractions
