It can be therapeutic to stop for a moment and take in our surroundings. Taking pictures is a way for us to hold on to and recall good, positive memories that we want to cherish far after the moment is gone. Taking pictures is not just a way to keep memories safe but also allows us to harness our creativity and feel the simplistic joy of capturing the things that we love. This group provides a warm community of education, emotional support, and a time to share your concerns. Prostate Cancer Support & Education Group Wednesdays: May 9, June 13, July 11, August 8 7:00 PM 8:30 PM This group provides education and promotes emotional support to assist in the prostate cancer recovery process. Grief and Loss Support Group Wednesdays: May 30, June 27, July 25, August 29 An ongoing support group for adults who have lost a loved one to cancer. This group will provide participants time to share with others and to be surrounded with a supportive environment. Support persons are also encouraged to attend. Family & Youth Programs* It s A Jungle Out There!: The Jungle Book Friday, May 18 6:00pm It s time to start getting wild about summer! Join us this family night as we watch the new live action Jungle Book movie while we eat and create together! Supplies will be provided. Ocean Explorers: Finding Dory Sunday, June 3 6:00pm The ocean is full of places to be explored and here at Stewarts we are ready for anything! Join us this family night as we help Find Dory, eat and create together! Supplies will be provided. Annual Summer Camp: Monday-Friday June 11-15, July 9-13 & August :00am 12:00pm Throughout this weeklong camp, we will focus on what makes a champion and how to always light a fire of hope for yourself and those around you. We will be partaking in-group activities each day to engage in teamwork, communication, dedication, positivity, leadership and so much more. Look forward to spending time outside daily with fun group activities that will allow campers to work together to accomplish a common goal. We will talk about how we communicated, conquered and worked together to move forward as well as the importance of always going for gold, putting your best foot forward and doing your best. Group activities, crafts, outdoor play, and communication will all be covered daily at this year s summer camp! Drive-In Movie: The Croods Sunday, August 5 6:00pm We cannot believe that summer is coming to an end! Join us for our annual outdoor movie here at Stewarts Caring Place as we enjoy the summer air! Look Good Feel Better Tuesdays: May 8, June 12, July 10, August 14 6:00 PM 8:00 PM This American Cancer Society program helps women undergoing current cancer treatment learn new techniques in the use of cosmetics and skin care products to deal with the side effects of treatment. Help with Hair Loss: Choosing a Wig Mondays: May 21, June 18, July 16 & August 20 6:00 PM Join us as we explore options of wigs and scarves when dealing with hair loss. Every Wednesday uses gentle flowing movements to reduce stress and improve your balance, flexibility, and health. Bring soft shoes and wear comfortable clothing. Every Thursday Learn about and practice this unique style of yoga that promotes relaxation and sleep. Participants will hold poses which encourages the lengthening of tendons and ligaments. Recommended for those interested in trying a gentle approach to yoga while experiencing fatigue. Open to individuals treated for cancer. All levels welcome. Every Tuesday 9:00 AM 10:30 AM A relaxed, fun yoga class for all ages and experience levels. Please bring a yoga mat, if needed one will be provided. All levels welcome. Chair First Friday of the Month Only: 10:00 11:00am Chair yoga is a gentle type of yoga done while seated. This program is especially appropriate for individuals looking to increase flexibility and range of motion without performing complicated poses. All levels welcome. Individual & Family Counseling Stewart s offers short-term counseling sessions for adult individuals, couples, and families. 60-minute sessions. Massage Fully clothed individual massages that assist those who are currently in treatment or who have recently finished treatment with pain reduction and relaxation. Nutrition Consultations These individualized sessions with a registered dietitian can address issues such as loss of appetite, taste changes, weight gain or loss, meal plans, and food preparation. Spiritual Care Sessions An experience with cancer as a patient or a caregiver often encourage questions around purpose, meaning, and spirit. Our chaplains are available to provide you with emotional and spiritual support. Session dates and times are provided at your convenience. Financial Help* Debt Management Consultations Learn about debt resolution strategies during a comprehensive family budget review. Financial Planning Consultations These one-hour sessions help address your 401k options, insurance information, retirement goals, and investments. Social Security & Disability Consultations Receive consults and advice for individuals who are seeking information about Social Security. Support persons are encouraged to attend. Wills, Trusts, and Estate Planning Consultations Receive assistance with estate planning, living wills, wills, medical power of attorney, and trusts. Integrative Care* Mini Facial Enjoy a relaxing, cleansing facial with hot towels and gentle massage. Note: This program is reserved for men and women actively receiving cancer treatment. Essential Oils Consultation Learn about the properties of essential oils and how they may help promote feelings of calmness and relaxation though infusers and touch. Foot Reflexology The ancient art of reflexology utilizes pressure applied to reflex points on the feet, which correspond to various body parts, and helps stimulate the body s healing process. Note: This program is reserved for men and women actively receiving cancer treatment. Massage Therapy Fully clothed individual massages that assist those who are currently in treatment with pain reduction and relaxation. Essential oils are available to enhance your session. Note: This program is reserved for men and women actively receiving cancer treatment. Reiki A Japanese energy-healing modality used to reduce stress, increase relaxation, and promote health through touch. Sessions are administered while the clothed participant lies on a table. 30-minute and 45-minute sessions available. Arm & Hand Massage Enjoy a calming light touch massage of the arms, shoulders and hands to alleviate stress and tension.
