Fortunately, many of these problems are preventable. We will discuss why it is important to take care of your feet, how to clean and care for your feet, how to protect your feet and what to do if you discover a foot problem. Friday, November 30 Physical Activity & Active Living for Everyone: What Moves You? Are you ready to take the first steps to becoming physically active? You will learn the basics of getting started with physical activity including the benefits of becoming more physically active and how physical activity and exercise can enhance your quality of life. You will learn strategies to incorporate more physical activity in your day and find opportunities to move more and sit less! *Please note: This is the same workshop in Back 2 Basics. Monday, August 20 4:00 pm 6:00 pm Wednesday, October 17 Monday, November 19 Friday, December 14 Nordic Pole Walking Urban Poling or Nordic walking is a total body version of walking that is performed with specially designed walking poles similar to ski poles. Learn about the benefits of using poles and how to use them. We will have sets of poles for people to try out. Wednesday, September 26 3:00 pm 5:00 pm

3 Holiday Eating Tips Healthy eating can be challenging, especially during the holidays. With potlucks, parties, busy schedules, and endless temptations, it s easy to let healthy habits slide. Learn how you can enjoy your favourite holiday foods and still keep your commitment to eating well. Wednesday, October 3 Baby s First Foods Introducing your baby to food can be fun for both baby and parents. Learn when and how to introduce solids to your baby as well as how to make your own nutritious and great tasting baby food. Bring your baby with you to try out some tasty new favours. Monday, November 5 10:00 am 12:00 pm Eating in the NOW Are you tired of chronic dieting? Do you often feel guilt or shame when you eat? Eating in the NOW is a unique program designed to free yourself from dieting and heal your relationship with food and your body. You will learn how to distinguish between emotional and physical hunger cues, gain a sense of body wisdom, and make peace with food while developing a compassionate relationship with yourself. Tuesdays starting September 11 to October 16, for 6 weeks 8:00 am 9:30 am Wednesdays starting November 7 to December 12 for 6 weeks 6:00 pm 7:30 pm Happiness Basics Happiness is a state of mind that must be chosen and reinforced with action on a daily basis. Happiness Basics will help you build the skills you need to increase the amount of positive experiences, engagement, meaning and opportunities for achievement you have in your life. Taking part in this workshop, has been shown to improve mood, vitality and energy, as well as physical and mental health. Tuesdays starting September 25 for 4 weeks 2:00 pm 4:00 pm Fridays starting November 16 for 4 weeks

4 Managing Stress & Anxiety Managing stress and anxiety can sometimes feel like a continual balancing act. This small group workshop will provide strategies and techniques to help effectively reduce and manage the stress and anxiety in your life. When someone you love dies, it can be hard to understand your often complex and overwhelming thoughts and feelings. Taking part in this workshop will help you to understand your grief. *Space is limited. Thursdays starting September 6 for 6 weeks 6:00 pm 8:00 pm Facilitated by: Lori-Ann Huot, Program Coordinator, Angel Whispers Baby Loss Support Program The Hold Me Tight Program: A Relationship Education Group for Couples Learn the essential conversations for a successful relationship which will include private exercises with your partner and watching video demonstations. These tools will help you to understand and improve your relationship with your partner. This weekend session was developed by Dr. Sue Johnson who wrote the book Hold Me Tight: Seven Conversations for a Lifetime of Love. *Space is limited. It s time to think about the health of your bones and to take steps to build a healthy framework. Tuesday, November 6 6:00 pm 8:00 pm Canning Basics This fun, hands-on workshop will provide you the opportunity to learn about water bath canning. Every year, we grow vegetables at the local community garden and this year, we ve decided we want to can those vegetables with you that you get to take home. *Canned goods subject to change based on growing season and harvest. Space is limited. TBD Frequently Asked Questions Can I bring a support person or friend? Yes, of course you can! We would just appreciate it if you let us know when you register. I m interested in a workshop but the dates/times don t work for my schedule. What do I do?
