When I accepted the opportunity in the fall of 2016 to be your President, I had no idea of the many leaders we have, or the depth of commitment they would exhibit. Judy Eatmon, the immediate past-president, was a fountain of advice and encouragement. And David Larsen, the Newsletter Editor and Webmaster for the previous six years, was equally helpful. In addition, we had leaders who gave our club operating stability: Barbara Guilford with Programs; Donna Logan with Membership records; Tim & Julie Bolin as Treasurer; Tony Adams with Publicity; and John Kaiser as our leader for several Open World programs and Exchange hostings. Also, I can t thank Jan & Terry Udell enough for always providing an inviting meeting room as our Hospitality Chairs and for hosting me at their home so I wouldn t need to drive back to Casper after each meeting. These leaders, and all of you who have hosted and helped throughout the years, have made our club the wonderful Friendship Force home that it continues to be. Continuing into 2019 we have good programs, and a full schedule of Journeys: hosting FF of Connecticut May 29 June 5, and traveling to the FF of Bristol and the FF of Derbyshire, England in the last half of September. And we are especially fortunate to have John Lee as President to lead our club into this exciting year. I m particularly looking forward to the program for our January 14 meeting: Cathie McCallum speaking about visiting the FF of Bristol, England. I think that your guests will like it too. Dave

I think we will have another interesting year. We have an incoming journey from Connecticut scheduled for late May and early June. We have an outgoing to England in September. We have a number of interesting speakers lined up for some of our meetings. I thank Dave for being our chapter president for the past two years. He has done a great job of keeping us on track. Don t forget to attend our chapter meetings and bring a friend, better yet ask someone to make a presentation to our chapter about a travel experience they have had. 6 Page 6 The Cheyenne ROUNDUP January 2019 The Friendship Force of Cheyenne Monthly Meeting December 10, 2018 Friendship Force Club of Cheyenne enjoyed a festive evening arranged by Barbara Guilford and Deborah Kaiser. Marilyn Petit and Vernice Miller decorated the tables with beautiful linens and center pieces. Members and guests were served an excellent dinner catered by Betty Ann Shaffer of B s Baked Goods. ( Babakegoods@icloud.com). Prior to dinner the club was wellentertained by Mariachi 307. This group of talented teens were wearing brand new uniforms that had been tailor made for each member. Loree Sanchez ( ; Mariachi307@outlook.com) began the band with 6 students in There are now 25 participants and they have been invited to perform at several venues throughout the country. Donations are welcome and may be mailed to 2800 E Pershing Blvd. You may contact Loree Sanchez if you would like to have them perform at your event. After dinner newer members shared Christmas memories. President, Dave Bentzin introduced guest, Fran Fox. The speaker for the January 14th meeting will be Cathie McCallum of Friendship Force of Northern Colorado. She will be speaking about their Journey to Bristol, England. Dave Bentzin noted that this will be especially interesting as Friendship Force of Cheyenne will be traveling to Bristol, England and Derbyshire, England the last half of September in Dave Bentzin announced that there will be a Board Meeting at 4:00 p.m. on January 14. th prior to the regular meeting at 6:00 p.m. Board members, committee chairpersons, and interested members are invited to attend. Both the board meeting and the January dinner meeting will be held at Knights of Columbus Building at 507 W 28 th St. Please bring a dish to share at the dinner meeting Board members were asked to stand: President, John Lee; Vice President, Tim Thorson; Secretary, Janet Black; Treasurer, Vernice Miller. John Lee asked for volunteers to audit the books for Judy Eatmon and Carolyn Webber volunteered to complete this duty. John Lee presented to Dave Bentzin an engraved box and pencil set from the club with heartfelt thanks for serving as President for two years and noted that Dave has driven from Casper to attend all the meetings. This was a lovely evening of camaraderie and cheer. President, Dave Bentzin thanked Deborah Kaiser and Barbara Guilford for organizing this event for the club and then adjourned the meeting with best wishes to all. She will introduce us to the scenery, history, and people of the Bristol area through vicarious visits to Bath, Wells, Cheddar; Stourhead Estate near Mere, Wiltshire; and St. Fagans National Museum of History near Cardiff, Wales. Come to get a preview of the FF of Cheyenne Journey to Bristol. Bristol is a city straddling the River Avon in the southwest of England with a prosperous maritime history. Its former city-centre port is now a cultural hub, the Harbourside, where the M Shed museum explores local social and industrial heritage. The harbour's 19th-century warehouses now contain restaurants, shops and cultural institutions such as contemporary art gallery The Arnolfini. Cheyenne FF Journey in September 2019!!
