This presentation provides an overview of the core features of the three psychosocial components of the coordinated specialty care program, NAVIGATE, provided in RAISE-ETP. Key issues in establishing a first episode for psychosis program in a typical outpatient US mental health treatment setting will also be covered. Our fundamental belief is that mental health professionals with a strong background in learning and cognitivelybased interventions can play a key role in supporting recovery from a first episode of psychosis. Afternoon Institute Developing an Early Intervention for Psychosis Toolkit Wayne Munchel, LCSW, Consultant Expand your skill set for improving engagement and recovery outcomes with people experiencing voices and/or extreme states using these state-ofthe-art techniques. This half-day institute provides an overview of current evidence-based understandings about psychotic disorders and schizophrenia. Participants will learn strategies to address and overcome the prevalent hopelessness and helplessness that accompanies these experiences. Included are practical interventions drawn from several EBP models, such as CBT for Psychosis, ACT and Hearing Voices support groups.

This is essential for developing recoveryoriented supports. Join this interactive workshop where participants will learn to use participation measurement as a recovery supports planning tool and in program evaluation. The workshop will talk about the importance of avoiding long term unemployment for people with psychiatric disabilities. It will discuss the state of the current practice and what progress has been made and what has impeded more significant accomplishments in this area. This workshop discusses what community means, where we ourselves find that sense of belonging and place in our lives, and how to engage our clients in ways that allow them to grow and develop their personal communities. Cultural Moments are windows of opportunity, possibilities for change that are available to us anywhere and at any time. A comment at work or an incident at the supermarket checkout line can trigger a memory or evoke a buried thought which prompts us to reflect on a culturally

Learn how to recognize and use these moments as a chance to see old events differently and let go of ideas which hold us back from being the more inclusive, open, and compassionate self we wish to become. CBTp FLP is an evidence-informed practice with effectiveness in reducing distress associated with psychotic symptoms. CBTp FLP focuses on strategies appropriate for a wide range of providers including clinicians and case managers. These behavioral approaches support engagement, client centered care planning, and implementation of services. Getting involved in the community is key to recovery and a full life! This workshop highlights effective strategies for engaging people in the community, including specific outreach to the Latino community. Learn how to find the right staff, partner with other agencies and encourage individuals to make connections that last beyond the program. Staff, consumers, and supporters sometimes get lost in the semantics of the word RECOVERY. The truth of the matter is, everyone is or has recovered from something. Building connections and relationships with co-workers and those we serve requires the removal of barriers, through HOPEFUL Connections as well as a focus on the common ground of the recovery journey.

Engaging members utilizing the recovery model in agencies where service engagement is built on the medical model. This interactive workshop provides a critical analysis of how to overcome obstacles in engagement and avoid burn out in service providers. What would happen if a leader worked to intentionally create a culture of recovery within his/her team? This workshop will focus on specific techniques to help teams (re)discover and use their core values, passions and gifts in their daily work. Helping to empower consumers by teaching new skills, focusing on personal strengths abilities and passions. Help each person develop, plan and facilitate a group to help others with mental illness and find the power of giving back to others. Will instruct on basic group skills and have an interactive participation with attendees and have a panel discussion with a consumer. Adolescents drama is often dismissed as typical adolescent behavior. Many teens suffer from exposure to trauma and mental illness and are not getting the help they truly need.
