FIS GIVES BACK A review of giving efforts across FIS in 2017
ABOUT OUR CHARITABLE GIVING EFFORTS ENCOURAGING GIVING BACK is one of FIS Guiding Principles. With PASSION and PURPOSE, we encourage a culture of giving back to our CLIENTS, COMMUNITIES AND COLLEAGUES, globally, to make a positive difference. FIS FOUR AREAS OF GIVING The FIS Charitable Foundation complements the philanthropic efforts of our employees by providing financial support in excess of $1 million dollars annually to qualified organizations operating within our areas of focus. The foundation also considers financial donations, team contributions and matching donations upon request. FIS CHARITABLE FOUNDATION When disasters such as earthquakes, hurricanes, flooding, etc. strike, employees answer the call for help with monetary donations, supplies and volunteer hours. DISASTER AID Outside of the FIS Charitable Foundation s annual giving, our employees demonstrate their generous commitment to giving by regularly volunteering their own time and money in support of the organizations nearest and dearest to their hearts. EMPLOYEE FUNDRAISING Employees in the U.S. can donate $1 - $5 per pay period to help colleagues facing financial hardships due to catastrophic or unforeseen events. FIS CARES 1
EMPLOYEE FUNDRAISING AND VOLUNTEERISM Throughout the year, employees at our many offices around the world gave back to their communities by volunteering their time and monetary donations. In most of our regions, employees can use eight hours of paid time off to spend time supporting charities nearest and dearest to their hearts. Over the next few pages, we have spotlighted some of these global efforts. Employees in ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA packed more than 5,000 pounds of food at the St. Petersburg Free Clinic. Employees in GENEVA, SWITZERLAND removed invasive species from the Mategnin Nature Reserve. Employees in MEXICO CITY, MEXICO donated 50 backpacks to the S.O.S. Rescuing Our Children Association. 2
EMPLOYEE FUNDRAISING AND VOLUNTEERISM Employees in ORLANDO, FLORIDA volunteered at the Daily Bread soup kitchen. Employees in GURGAON, INDIA spent quality time with children from the Smile Foundation. Employees in CHRISTCHURCH, NEW ZEALAND gave blood on World Blood Donor Day. Employees in SEOUL, KOREA participated in Walking Overnight for Loving Life. 3
EMPLOYEE FUNDRAISING AND VOLUNTEERISM Employees in JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA lent a helping hand at Camp I Am Special. Employees in WATFORD, ENGLAND donated supplies to a senior living shelter. Employees in TUNIS, TUNISIA donated supplies to 123 kids at Ain Soltan School. Employees in MOHALI, INDIA visited Don Bosco Navjeevan School in celebration of the Holi holiday. Employees in WOODBURY, MINNESOTA packed 63,504 meals at Feed My Starving Children. 4
EMPLOYEE FUNDRAISING AND VOLUNTEERISM Employees in NEW YORK CITY donated more than 25 presents to The Guild for Exceptional Children preschool in Borough Park, Brooklyn. Fiaz Sindhu in JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA spoke to young boys from the 5,000 Role Models of Excellence organization at Dupont Middle. Employees in HONG KONG, CHINA packed 2,000 meals and raised funds to sponsor 186 meals for Food Angel, a local kitchen that provides food to the underprivileged. 5
EMPLOYEE FUNDRAISING AND VOLUNTEERISM Employees in BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND scaled a building to raise more than 2,500 for bereaved families. FRANKFURT, GERMANY employees donated their time and made monetary donations to a local shelter. Employees in NORCROSS, GEORGIA built a home for an underprivileged family. Employees in MANILA, PHILIPPINES donated school supplies to less fortunate children. Employees in LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS donated bikes to the Recycle Bikes for Kids Foundation. 6
FIS GOES PINK FOR BREAST CANCER FIS employees around the globe recognized Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. Much of this year s focus was on early detection. Some U.S. offices had on-site mammogram units, making it easier than ever for employees to get screened. Employees also raised more than $30,000 in donations toward organizations such as Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and Relay For Life. Orlando, FL St. Petersburg, FL Oklahoma City, OK 7 Sao Paulo, Brazil Manila, Philippines Tunis, Tunisia
FIS SUPPORTS THE MOVEMBER FOUNDATION Chief Legal Officer MARC MAYO and Chief Financial Officer WOODY WOODALL CANTON, MA Over the past four years, FIS has supported the Movember Foundation in its quest to change the face of men s health by bringing attention to prostate and testicular cancer, raising mental health awareness and encouraging people to get moving through more physical activity. During the month of November, employees said no to shaving in an effort to spark conversation and awareness. CHARLOTTE, NC Team Horizon in BENGALURU, INDIA SHARI ROBBINS gets creative with her moustache. 8
SPOTLIGHT ON LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY S TEAM IN TRAINING Over the past six years, corporate and employee support for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society s (LLS) Team in Training (TNT) program resulted in more than $1.84 million in donations to the cause. Team FIS raised more than $100,000 in 2017 alone. The funding is linked to LLS research for pediatric and young adult cancers. The culmination of our fundraising efforts capped off with 69 Team FIS runners participating in the LLS TNT marathon at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. The team ran in honor of Ali Spears, the daughter of FIS employee, Mara Spears. 9
FIS CARES FIS Cares is a peer-to-peer giving program designed to provide short-term support during times when catastrophic or unforeseen events result in severe financial hardship. U.S. employees can donate between $1 $5 per pay period to help pay for necessities such as medical expenses, temporary housing, food, clothing, utility bills and other basic needs. KATIE SURICO, FIS EMPLOYEE My daughter had some complications at birth and spent two and a half months in the NICU. I was urged to apply for an FIS Cares grant by my colleagues. The financial support from FIS Cares gave me the opportunity to bond with my newborn without worrying about medical bills. A year later, my daughter was put in a medically-induced coma and FIS Cares was there, once again, to assist with medical expenses. Going through these circumstances, I have seen that FIS is truly a family. It s great to work at a company where you can not only give, but receive. I go to bed every night knowing that my child is taken care of, and I have FIS to thank for that. FIS Cares helped me tremendously when Hurricane Irma struck my home, destroyed my roof and collapsed my kitchen, along with two other rooms. I was floored at the amount of support I received from the program. The money was enough to move into another home and replace items that were lost in the storm. Everything fell back into place and I couldn t have done it without the FIS Cares program. ROBIN HOEFLER, FIS EMPLOYEE 10
