2 The Communication Trust publications Information for those who want to find out more about supporting all children and young people s communication and those with speech, language and communication needs Early Years Mandatory Pathway Unit 5 (EYMP5) The Communication Trust has successfully established 7 units on the Qualifications and Credits Framework and is now working to support the delivery of these units. For the first time a speech, language and communication unit has been included as a mandatory part of the new Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People s Workforce, which became available in September The Trust developed free, expertly written materials for trainers and learners to support the delivery of the unit entitled; Early Years Mandatory Pathway Unit 5, support children s speech, language and communication. These materials include video footage, activities and handbooks and are available to download at Additionally to this The Communication Trust is working to package these units up into a new level 3 Award entitled; Supporting Children and Young People's Speech, Language and Communication. This award will be made up of three units; two mandatory and a third from the list below. If you are interested, or would like more information please contact Eve Wagg at ewagg@thecommunicationtrust.org.uk Inclusion Development Programme (IDP) The Inclusion Development Programme provides support for leadership teams in schools and settings, and professional development materials for teachers, trainee teachers and practitioners working with pupils with a range of special educational needs of all ages from early years through to secondary. The revised SLCN resource comprises a booklet, an interactive DVD and a web based e learning course which should be used by groups of teachers and practitioners to form the basis of continuous professional development sessions Elizabeth Jarman Helps partners create optimum conditions for learning through their resources and training on how to create Communication Friendly Spaces 2
