Quick and robust response of the transcriptome (mrna) to overfeeding energy: Strong impact on metabolic pathways (energy metabolism, lipogenesis) Pivotal role for PPAR, a nutrient sensor Manipulating PPAR could alter a large number of biological functions: Pros: Greater insulin sensitivity? Quicker recovery of adipose mass post-partum? Lower NEFA concentrations?
